They are on about $150,000 a week for the very best player in the country. << Way above what teachers make here. Really funny too, since we spend so much money on education here. We have also lowered our standards for education, and how we hire teachers. Really a shame too, since a lot of well qualified, and deticated teachers get pasted over so the politically correct way of hiring teachers can be met. I guess sports of all kinds is kind of ridiculous the world over. I'm a little surprised how low the taxi drivers are. If I'm not mistaken becoming a taxi driver in the UK is a very difficult task. I believe they go through a rigorous test, and are some of the most top quality proffesionals in the industry world wide.

Also, I hate to tell you this but most of the people that voted for the Health Care Bill backed that abomination of a Patriot Act also. It was very much a bipartisan bill. If I'm not mistaken Obama has a Secretary of Homeland Security also. >> Oh, and cool Tronorail. << Does TDL or TDS do anything like this. Just curious.

But a lot do it as a lifestyle business so they can see their kids. Sure, if someone wants to work all the time, then they can earn more, but I was talking typical. FWIW, a Social Worker is on about £29k-£60k, and you must have a 4 year degree to do that. To become a cabby is much easier.

I just don't see any change in the Democratic party. Perhaps the American public finally realized they had a fiscally irresponsible President, and a majority Congress that supported him. I think Americans were ready for a change. The question now becomes did they get that change that they thought they were voting for ot not. I think the truly Independents (not the people that only say they are Independent because it sounds good) will answer that question in the coming elections. >> Now, WILL we see changes from the right wingers? No evidence of that thus far. Nothing has changed since the 08 election except for the volume and increased pitch of the vitriol. << Funny how somebody from the left sees it. I see a dramatic switch in trying to go back to the base principals of the GOP, and get away from the Bush philosophy. We shall see.

Also while you might still be here, why is it that almost everybody from the UK still uses the British Pound instead of Euro. This is not a critisisim, Im just curious. Do they still use Francs in France, and Deutsch Marks in Germany. AND why can't I make a £ sign in this forum witout using cut, and paste.

While being a conservative, I myself admire her, and feel she ranks right up there with the best of the British PMs. I also really liked Tony Blair, and he was far from conservative. Brown, I just haven't figured out yet. he is a Scotsman, and probably drinks Tennent's!

I guess I really didn't make myself clear. If sending an e-mail, I can hold the alt key down, and type in 0163 on the numeric key board. When you release you get the British Pound sign. If I do that in this forum I get nothing.
