Now think of how crammed everyone is going to be watching WoC. Mark my words....there are going to be a lot of unhappy kids and parents.>>>> Quit comparing WOC to a fireworks show. Compare it to viewing Fantasmic. WOC has 5 tiers of viewing which gives 5 different front rows. It is also at a greater height than Fantasmic so that will be easier to see. Lastly you can get advanced tickets for this as well as lineup after you have your tickets, thus a better shot at getting one of those many front rows. So for now it would seem that the viewing will be easier for WOC than for Fantasmic. Pretty soon we will know for sure.

And there was likely some dramatization over how much impact Iger has over the World of Color soundtrack. And then you have to consider how that message from Iger was received on the other end at Steve Davison's office in Glendale. The CEO says "Why don't we try green drapes in the rooms instead?" and the designers sigh and change a few trim pieces and do a little song and dance and the drapes don't end up changing all that much. I have a hunch those types of creative notes from a rather non-creative guy like Iger are taken in that same vein. When World of Color soft opens in the middle of May and we all hate the bubblegum pop music, then at least we know who to blame. If it opens with a lush musical score with contemporary underpinnings, then we'll know Davison succesfully deflected the last second creative input from Iger. ;-) And the NY Times got their little puff piece, to boot.

I got all swelled up ... and thought this was going to be the show opener ... Then I saw a different version that is much shorter .. and Amy Grant segwaying in .. and I just cringed, and lost that "magical" feeling. As I understand .... Amy Grant was originally planned, all along, in the show opening .. so I can't blame Iger for that. So that was not enough "moderny" huh? I double cringe for what's to come.

It is another "fan" video, shot from the Paradise Pier Hotel, overdubbed with the Wellington's cover of the original World of Color theme. Steve Davison has made it clear from the beginning that World of Color would be a part of the show, but that the versions used would be the original show opening (which is merely excerpted in last week's test), and a contemporary version. >>The article was from Feb.<< Actually, the article was released April 9, and described events that took place last February.

It's not special anymore after 10 minutes because you've already seen all that they are capable of. There needs to be a "surprise" for the finale to leave people wanting more. Since this video was just a test, hopefully, there will be some surprises.
