Postal expenses for next year's Bash will be covered by the bids we collect from Bashers who want to have one of these people as their Secret Pals.

Guess we go back to planning the "Men Of LP Calendar" fund-raiser.

I know it was because of the hard work and attention you personally spend with it each year, as well as the rest of the facilitators, of course!
Originally Posted By Inspector 57 Ummmmmmmm, Ursula... That on-line conversation may well have happened, but I don't personally remember it. As I recall... I had been fantasizing about an LP Secret Pal kind of happening -- one of those ongoing "Wouldn't this be cool but of course it could never happen but it's still fun to think about" things. At that same time, there was a thread in which lots of LP'ers were happily bonding over their love of something, and I believe that something was "The Princess Bride." MrNiceGuy posted that he had never seen the film and didn't care to. In response, I posted a mock-outraged rant to him in which I said I had drawn his name in the [fictitious] LP Secret Pal exchange and was now going to have to return the DVD I had already purchased for him. There was more bantering and joking and then a few posts down, LPFan22 quietly asked, "Inspector, is there really an LP Secret Pal exchange?" That made me stop and think. "Hey, wait a second. COULD it really happen? This idea is so crazy it just might work!" I put Denise on hold and called Tiggirl. (She and I may have already chatted about this fantasy -- I can't remember.) Anyhow, I ran it past Beth: "What do you think? How would I handle this? What if this happened?" We talked it through, and I decided to give it a try. I posted the idea on the boards and the response was WAY enthusiastic. I immediately panicked. "OMG! What have I done?! This is going to be BIG!" I was about to email Beth to ask if she might be interested in helping with it (ie, I was ready to BEG!) when I got an email from Beth: "Mark, could I help you with the Secret Pal thing?" So Tiggirl and I were the Facilitators the first year. MrNiceGuy and Disneygrrl were our very helpful Elves. MNG and Mrs Nurmi joined as Facilitators the next year. m2 was a "secret" Facilitator for a year. Last year goodgirl joined and m2 joined officially as Facilitators.

It really is a wonderful thing. Being on EST, I get up this morning and enjoy the drunken REVEALS which happened last night, or should I say early this morning. Was so fun to read through the threads. And who knew, (I didn't) Lisann was so creative??? Seriously, those gift were awesome and priceless. I have a question, because I am still learning about everyone ~ why the name Flygirl? I enjoyed those pics from Lisann and the pics from Candice. Yall are funny and cute. I could use a Santa Baby this morning. Wait, I don't drink. However, I did have a Mint Chocotini last weekend. Ok, please don't hit me ~ please explain Shag to me. And I love, love, love the print. I noticed it on LP store. Thank you guys, and I'm off this morning and Merry Christmas!!! gee, Christmas without Lisann's tamales. *sigh*
