What if, when you sign up to participate, there is a small fee??? I mean, I wouldn't mind. Would $5 deter sign up participation? Then each participant had the designated person to send the $5 to; like I would have sent mine to goodgirl. But keeping in mind, you still have to send $$Postal Money$$ to send packages. This won't make packages arrive quicker or on time, but it would help with expenses for the Facilitators. Just a thought.<<

I appreciate that you bring up the postage costs that the facilitators "eat" throughout the course of the Bash. A stamp here, a package there, and pretty soon, I know it must really add up.

Short of the $5 sign up fee, I think I would underscore with folks that when considering whether or not they want to participate in the LPWB, they are sure they can cover their own postage costs. This isn't to exclude anyone. It's just that the facilitators are already giving us their time and energy to make the Bash happen, it's unfair to make them form over postage, too.

Once I wasn't able to do that for some reason, so I included a sheet of stamps, where Michelle could get to it w/out disturbing Tiggirl's package.

So yes, if you're putting postage on an "inside" box, be sure you are putting actual stamps on -- NOT the postage they just print off.

And about the postage...since my packages were going to the facilitator then being forwarded to Canada, I put in an extra book of stamps for them to forward the packages.

    Just a suggestion for all.

I wasn't a part of the bash, but I enjoy reading about it. One thing I'd like to throw in is this...

u k fan and I exchanged goodies early last year. We each mailed our packages the same week. I got mine a few days after he mailed it. However, he didn't get his package until about two months after I mailed it. Apparently big packages being mailed to the U K get held up at customs. I'm sure it's increased security due to terrorism and all of that. And I don't know how people could get around that fact.
