I'm with the quiet few (actually, I'm sure we're the vast, vast majority) who will feel unequivcably that this really, really, really is no big deal at all. Lines will become "manageable" because, by definition, they self-manage. Oh, and no FastPass on Subs is a superb decision and, oh yeah! again, EVERY PERSON WHO WANTS TO WILL RIDE EVERY DAY (absent mechanical failure late in the day). Ursula said it best: "If you want to cross the bridge, my sweet, you've got to pay the toll."

Disneyland isn't going to advertise to ANYBODY that "Nemo's Open! Come and ride without waiting in any line because you hate waiting!"

And, it will all work out just fine. If it isn't worth riding, the line will vanish faster than Rockett Rodds or SuperStar Limo. If it is, people will do what they do all day every single day: decide they want to wait, or decide they do not. City Hall will hear gripes from boorish people whose opinions are not really important, and we will all move on. I suggest that those who are screaming that the world is ending please voluntarily forswear EVER riding: that should help the rest of us poor 'victims' manage the horrendous and sinful lines at this colossal "blunder" of a fabulous ride.

So now a conclusion: Gadzuux wrote: "At this early stage of the game, there's just no tellin'." This is probably the truest statement in this thread (though we all think our assumptions and assessments will play out); I shall soon bid this particular thread a very enthusiastic "good riddance" and invite all to join with me. The wasted breath (including my own) could be re-directed to much more fun areas like "Trivia and Games" (which has been suffering from neglect lately).

    ;o)

On a 20K day, there would be shorter lines as only a portion of the 20K will want to ride.

On a 60K day, there will be a larger line since the number of people wanting to ride will increase due to the higher attendance. Now, some may be turned off by the long line which will allow others to ride instead.

In the photos that are being shown of the construction, I was noticing that there are some really heavy concrete pads being laid under the track right before the sharper part of the curve in the lagoon. Much heavier than was there before.

I'm wondering if that could be to support some bumps, or maybe they're doing it all over the ride because they found the old pads weren't heavy enough to hold the subs without being dislodged.

Disneyland does not close Attraction "lines" earlier than Attraction closing times. E-ticket Attractions are always open until closing, and the line is not closed until then. All persons in line at closing, no matter how long the line is, will be allowed to board. So in a 16 hour day, there are actually 16 hours to get in line.

Some posters are perhaps unfamiliar with this, but it is true: you don't have to get in line with enough time to be "out" by the closing hour. Indeed, on the Monorail, we often couldn't close our line until some time AFTER closing because Indy, Splash, Matterhorn and Space would still be cycling Guests, and TL management made us wait until they were through (though that 'perk' has probably been dropped).

OK, I'm really done now. I promise!
