Too often a dual coaster is run out of sync (Matterhorn and Dueling Dragons are prime examples), which really cuts down on the amount of fun. There is nothing to "sync" on the dispatch panel, It is just two tracks on the same mountain. Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge almost always raced each other. The lift hills are even computerized to weigh each train and adjust lift speed to ensure the "dragons" would interact with each other on the inversion elements. That was until some moron started throwing bolts from one of the trains at the other and injured two riders in separate incidences. That caused Universal to indefinitely stop the duel aspect of the ride. To make the new Twisted Colossus race, all that needs to be done is calculate the length of time it takes for train 1 to reach the first lift and for train 2 to reach the second lift and set the dispatch timer to run at that interval. Seems like they can easily run it this way as it looks like 4 trains can be on the circuit at one time: one in load one at unload and one on each lift. And with the "HIGH FIVE" element mid run, Six Flags will most likely try to keep it racing for at least the first year

Also we are talking about ride disbatch operators that recently learned how to drive and barely know how to do their jobs and are too busy talking to their friends to care about show experience. There is no way they would keep the racing element working unless it was completely automated and they were put under time constraints and watched by a manager.
