    Me too.

Buffets definitely encourage unhealthy eating habits. People won't exercise self-control.

The only two I ever go to at WDW are Boma -- because of its amazing variety of unique items/flavors -- and Trail's End -- because I love the atmosphere there and mostly eat from the salad and soup bar!

It's hard enough in everyday life to eat sensibly for a lot of people. My wife is the coordinator for a Center for Weight Loss Surgery and gets disgusted by what she sees at WDW and other places. When we were there last week, we were waiting to eat at the Plaza. Next to us was a family of five obese people waiting for their table. Next thing we we know, they go and get popcorn and ice cream to have while they were waiting. Fine example by the obese parents in teaching their already obese children how to manage their food intake. Worse yet, once inside, they ordered everything due them with the DDP, including more ice cream for desert, along with gallons of soda. It was sad. I'm not a big fan of the surgery, even though some people really need it, but in cases like this, I would have hoped that the parents would be trying to break the chain of obesity in their family. It was sad.

Man, I've forgotten what that is like. Even at a sit down, I have to "prepare" at least 2 of the kids meals after the food begins to hit the table. But I'm not complaining! Just sayin yeah that that would be nice now and then.

Guys we REALLY SHOULD do a Vegas weekend. I THINK my wife MIGHT let me go.

It's very harsh and can be deadly, but it's some people's only chance.

Sure!! I'm already booked for Vegas January 1-2. Anyone who would like to meet then; feel free to join me. I know it is a bad time to go and a short trip. But the Flamingo offered me two freebie nights then and I couldn’t resist.

Otherwise, figure out when would be good. I'll run it by my wife and see what she says. I'm sure it will be no problem. This has been another one of her "bought enough new clothes to pay for 3 Vegas trips" months.

The month before a WDW trip is always like that. I have no idea why. The way most people dress at WDW she could wear the worst stuff she has and still look pretty good. Today was her last chance before we leave. She bought new shoes. I knew shoes had to be somewhere on the shopping list. She hadn't bought new shoes for a couple of months now.

    :)

New shoes just before a WDW trip? As in, breaking in the shoes while at WDW? That's very risky. Speaking from experience, that can be a Very Bad Idea, as the shoes are likely to break in your feet and not the other way around!

My wife does the same thing. Has anybody met a woman who didn't have tons of shoes. No flaming for stero-typing women just an observation I've made.

My wife purchases walking shoes for the parks even though they are the same brand every year. She never has any foot problems from breaking them in. You can never buy sneakers without purchasing a pair or two of casual or dress shoes. That just wouldn't be proper ettiquette.

    There is hope.

Disney Dining is headed down a certain path that the execs in charge believe is the right one. They've obviously bought into all the PowerPoints and believe this is the way to milk the guests even more ... and they don't have a way to factor in how many people they lose ... be it locals ... DDE members ... or just the average guest who tries to get in Le Cellier for a day-of dinner and is told 'we've been booked for tonight for the past seven weeks, sorry ...'' and decides to go off-property to the Lone Star.

I got a nice letter saying they were surprised that I was disappointed and suggested I give it another try. By that point they had lost Wolfgang and Mondavi. And canned SSL, Steps in Pooh, Eureka! and replaced it with a parade I was tired of from the MK. Shall I say I was disinclined to accept their offer.
