Not only can you see sides of the screen, the entire ride mechanism and the other rows next to you, you also sometimes have guest's feet in front of you.

Funtastic World of Hanna Barbara was changed into Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast at USF. Questor at Busch Gardens Africa (Tampa) was changed to Akbar's Tours (then closed). Busch Garens Europe (Williamsburg) changed their Questor to the Irish themed Corkscrew Hill. Plus, other regional parks have updated their simulators many times. The former Paramount Parks featured Imax simulator films based on Days of Thunder, James Bond, and others. Currently, those parks have Spongebob Squarepants 3-D AND USF's old Funtastic World of Hanna Barbara. Admittedly, the regional parks have an easier time in swapping out ride films since there is little to no theming involved. It just seems that the heavily themed simulators, like Star Tours, Back to the Future, etc have not been redone due the major cost of actually re-theming the building. Although, this could easily be avoided if they just offered new films based on the same theme. (New Star Wars film for Star Tours, etc.) Of course, the cost of making these new ride films might be more prohibitive for them than they originally planned for when the rides were being developed, thus, no new films (yet!).

By trying to go so many places, so many time periods, etc., they lost any sense of coherence. That's the main reason Star Tours always worked better for me. BGW's Questor was even worse in that regard - it was the second sim I'd ever been on and I was really excited to do it, since Star Tours was at that time such a novelty. But they tried to do too much and ended up diluting the experience.
