I've often wondered about those people who live on Walnut. What is life like for them over there? And with disney announcing that they'd like to build a new fourth tower for the DLH, the temptation must be awfully strong to increase the resort access on Walnut and position this new proposed tower with one side facing Walnut. If not actual public access, at least some loading docks and service access.

A TON of money and investment in upkeep was poured into Walnut Street, and it shows. Walnut Street looks nicer than landscaped boulevards around Fashion Island and other fancy Irvine Company housing/retail developments. In short, Walnut Street in its current state has probably added immensely to the property values of those 1960's tract homes built there. Those property owners owe a debt of gratitude to Disney and Anaheim for investing so heavily in that border street.

So, if you don't like the way it looks, so be it, but some assertions that there isn't an interest in the ride. Wrong. I rode it and had a blast. I know its too late, but I still say taking it out for benches for old overweight fuddy duds is not progress.

Seriously though, I can only imagine Anaheim w/out Disneyland...Dull, boring, lack of $$$ flowing in and out from tourists.

It would be so much safer for the all the families if it was rerouted under ground and they build a walkway to the good neighbor hotels.

Since it's going away, I still think it should be replaced with another tower structure, like a Victorian themed observation tower or Eiffel inspired stylized tower (painted white) or something else iconic to fill that vertical space.

With the safety announcements they have running in the queue, I don't think I could stand to wait there any longer than that any way.

So they are at least keeping the HSM3 floats back there, and the Pixar Play Parade floats I imagine if the DEP floats were in the newer warehouse east of the Screamin' station. But with the DEP gone, maybe they'll move the Pixar and HSM3 floats to that newer warehouse?
