LOL! So true! It would be just another dilapidated, overpriced OC burb, which is what it is once you drive a few blocks from the "resort".

I think Maliboomer is one of the best ride experiences in DCA. I just love how thrilling it is. On the other hand, I think it is one of the most 'off the shelf' "Six Flags" rides in the park, cheapening the park, and the greatest eyesore in DCA. While I love it, I think it has to go, and I'll be sorry in a small way to see it go.

One of my best memories was convincing my daughter to go on it with me, lying to her the whole time about how it was so much milder than it appeared. We hit the top and she screamed at me "I'm going to kill you!". Again, one of my best memories. Of course, we ran off and got right back in line. Twice.

I think I can get by with going on the Supreme Scream at Knott's.

I'd rather not see a bench area go in there. Looking at the satellite photos, I think you could SQUEEZE a B or C ticket ride in there, but you'd have to be very creative and be thinking two or three stories. It could be done, but not with the kind of 'creative' thinking that brought Maliboomer to us in the first place.

Giving up 12 acres of the most expensive real estate in Orange County for a so-so movie like Cars (which I know he adores) is horrible in my opinion. If he would just get it through his mind that everything doesn't have to be character based, and new ideas could lead to new franchises (POTC, anyone?), he'd really have my vote. But I think that maybe he has to answer to the 'sharp pencil boys', and that's where things end. I know the orders are to work of the existing franchises and tie ins as much as possible.

Whatever happened to downright creative thinking at the WDC? Stockholders be damned! Let's move on! The stockholders will thank you in just a short time.

I kinda hope that Tron2 falls flat as a pancake so that someone would learn that you "Can't replace pigs with pigs" (although someone convinced Walt to try). Where are all the story writers? Did they all die with Walt?

Test Track still garners 4-5 hour waits on holidays. Nothing at DCA has ever been that popular.

Do you know anyone who goes to Epcot and says "Gee, Test Track just doesn't look interesting to ride.."

Carsland is not going to fail if built as planned.

More importantly everything doesn't have to based on HIS characters. Other than the princesses it seems like it's all about Pixar at the moment. As the Principal Creative Adviser at WDI he seems to want to put his Pixar stamp on anything he can. It'd be interesting to see DCA's transformation if he weren't at the helm. Oh well.

"Carsland is not going to fail if built as planned."

Certainly no disagreement from me on that. I think it's going to be a slam dunk, especially for the male guests visiting the place.

I was one of the chorus of people saying that the movie was "good not great". I'm still there but my estimation has gone up some with this recent watching.

But then that's what's so likeable about Disney/Pixar stuff - they generally hold up very well to repeated viewings - moreso than most typical hollywood movies.

As a result, I'm more inclined than I was before to think that the 'Cars' franchise is worthy of this extravagant commitment of valuable theme park space. Not only do I expect RCR to be a sure-fire hit, but the whole expansion with the 'Mater's Tow thing' and Luigi's Tire thing and 'Flo's V8 thing'.

Carsland is gonna be a gas gas gas! Too bad about the name though, that's still a clunker.

You could join Mickey as he travels through a strange and crazy fun house to rescue Minnie from Pete. There could be a lot of cool sight gags and things to see and would fall in tune with the new pier theme. Plus it would be the first Dark Ride ever at Disney to feature and be about Mickey Mouse (yes there is Philarmagic but that's more about Donald with Mickey appearing briefly at the start and end.) Maybe it could also have Mickey AA's now that would be cool, and not just the kind from mickey mouse review but a very modern one something like the mr. potato head one.

A similar concept was on the drawing boards for DL back in the 70's called Mickey's Madhouse.
