They need to spend money wisely. Spend it to ADD rides, not to remove rides.

So when they remove that crappy maliboomer thing there will still be more new attractions coming in than being taken out and that is just what we know of phase 1.

No matter how good they are, that's still not enough. Look at Legoland, they just spent $20 million and got 4 rides plus a second gate aquarium. Since LL opened 10 yrs ago, they've only added rides (atleast 1 a year) - I could only think of one that got replaced. Admittedly, some of the rides added are pretty cheesy - but kids love them. DCA added ToT, and Flicks, and Monsters. But took out Superstar, winery movie. For a net gain of maybe 4 rides. However, they did waste alot of money replacing things - Soap Opera Bistro, Wolfgang Pucks' and Mondavi's, Monsters. When DCA has enough rides and attractions, THEN you could start removing and/or replace. They're just not at that point yet.

"When DCA has enough rides and attractions, THEN you could start removing and/or replace. They're just not at that point yet." Define "enough". (Extra points for determining how many rides and attractions Disneyland had before something was removed / replaced.)

And though the Red Car Trolley will be a nice touch as well .... It's an "A" ticket. Just as the Main Street Vehicles are. Just one simple ride up .. and back again. It's not like they are going to disappear into some hidden showbuilding ... ~Where something terribly goes wrong~ A couple things get redressed: Sunwheel & Orange Stinger ehh! I just keep reminding myself .... that when all the parts are added up .. and finished by 2012 .. It will ALL make a noticeable difference. But the line-up is not like "massive" by any means: 2 E Tickets 2 Cs in Carsland 1 A (trolley) 1 nighttime show like I said - ehh!

I would hope it's not just to put in a beer garden - that seems a little silly to me.

Its good that you brought that up. There are several other changes and additions that people are not aware of. This includes new stores, restuarants and plenty of theming and landscaping. Also some existing attractions will be plussed so that they fit better with the look and feel of the park. As for the Carthay, that will most likely become the preview center once it is built and opened. At least for the moment

That the Grizzly Peek area .. along with the area surrounding Soarin' are on a back burner? Not to mention the Hollywood Backlot area? Not a thing for the Warf area mentioned. Walt Disney Story axed. Area along former Seasons of the Vine untouched ... Don't get me wrong ... I'll will be impressed with WHAT IS done by 2012. But it is not a COMPLETE park makeover.
