Except for the ornamental Japanese box hedge in my back yard that I have spent the last 8 years trimming into the shape of an original PeopleMover train, of course.

But other than that, I'm totally normal!

But post on Miceage??? Never! I'm not a nerd.

That made me laugh. You know, the kind of laugh where you snort a little bit.

What is so strange about reading my threads?

I find them to be the proper blend of arsenic and pixie dust, myself.

Hans, you really are my BFF you know. You say stuff like this, and it sounds exactly like something I would say.

I'll probably never know. I've never been able to get through a whole post. It's almost kinda like an episode of Mash.

I did get into a frenzied bidding war with Barry Braverman over it too - he was desperate to have it installed in his yard that has quickly become the DCA boneyard. He told me to "bring it on" if I thought that I was going to successfully win the Sun Icon and the entrance plaza tiles.

I understand that Disney were thinking of crating up the MaliBOOMer and shipping it piece-by-piece out to Goldman Sachs in NYC marked "For the attention of Timur Galen".

I'm so glad that common sense prevailed and I can now start to build my own California Adventure in my backyard. Nothing screams the Golden State like a skyscraper of steel and hydraulic tubes.

Will the city require you to keep the scream shields in place?

Will you be able to see The Norton Simon do you think?

    Great news though. Again, congrats.

Ironically the city council has said that they need to be re-designated as puke shields. A new city ordnance though and being CA it means the whole state's residents get to vote.

I originally wanted to have it installed at the Langham Huntington so you could see the Huntington but the Langham wanted to paint it in their corporate color - pink. That doesn't fit the color scheme of California.

I think it delivered exactly what it was supposed to deliver - a postcard view of CA. I liked the letters out front (one thing that has always bugged me about Disney theme parks is the fact that you can see turnstiles) and I love the tilework.

Could the entrance have been better? Of course but the budget just wouldn't allow. I'm not convinced by the obvious attempt to have a "mini-Main St" for the new DCA - it is all just too cliched for me. I would have liked to have seen something entirely new as an entrance sequence. I think that the design team went for the safe choice.

I know I'm in a very small minority though.
