Six riders per sled instead of the average four to six riders. Gone are the days of eight riders per sled. Speeding up the safety check won't matter, however, because the spacing of sled launches was a preset time frame, and the safety checks very rarely took longer than the fixed wait period between launches. But more riders will be seated per sled, which will definitely help. TDA should have made this switch shortly after MK put their new sleds in Space.

I know that some of the timing comes from where they have brakes on the ride, but it seems like they could cycle the cars through faster with a new system. They would also need to find a place to store the extra cars, since I think they're at full capacity now, but there's always a chance they could find something else to make it work.

But I could be wrong.<<< They can not shorten the dispatch interval due to the block break system that runs the attraction safely. If I recall correctly, the fastest dispatch is 18 seconds and that is the fastest a sled can get up the lift, clear that block and enter the second block. Only when it clears the second block can a sled be dispatched. The ride can only operate if the blocks in front of and behind a sled on the circuit is clear. This allows for safely stopping all the sleds should one of them stop on the track or the station backs up causing a cascade. The new sleds will only improve the line wait by allowing the loaders to fill all sleds to capacity instead of sending many out half full because most people don't want to sit in a lap. (Although, it was a whole lot of fun to have the Rose Bowl players cram 8 football players in a sled to go faster and try to shut down the ride. LOL, that was cool!) The belt check position will also be positively affected because there will only be one person/one belt, no more fumbling and stalling with multiple belts and riders.
