I've been counting down hours until I receive my paycheck and can buy an Aloha Stitch. I've already read all the books and magazines that have come out featuring Stitch. It's never enough!!! I've been drawing Stitch incessantly, and it's becoming obvious to my coworkers that I have problems... that is... until they "see" Stitch and ask and love and become OBSESSED!!! What are you doing to me and where did my dignity go? Well, I hope you're happy with yourselves. You have created a monster, and whether or not the movie succeeds you have a character who will be sitting up there with Pinocchio, Peter Pan, and possibly the Big Mouse. Now give me my life back. And about being obssessed with Stitch - now everytime I start to tell my girlfriend a story, ANY story, she always stops me first and says, "This isn't going to be about Stitch, is it?" I think she's more anxious for this movie to finally open than I am.

He basically has many of the characteristics that make Mickey so appealing on a subliminal level... he's all circles and ovals, very non-threatening, except for the teeth. With that kind of design, even with his teeth and behavior, you can't really be "scared" of him. His roundness is very appealing, and his coloring is soothing and pleasant. Just speaking as a former animator... I also just bought Experiment 626 Stitch, plastic, about nine inches tall, very poseable... his laser guns fire, he talks when you push a button on his spacesuit, and he's just really well done. He also oozes green slime from his mouth if you want him too. I just love looking at him... I keep twisting his little ears and firing his laser guns... a lot of personality. Whether or not the movie goes crazy at the box office, this character is going to be Disney's new mascot for a while... I just think he's a brilliant addition to their stable.
