As for Sarah, her marks are getting darker. I don't know if this is a good or a bad sign. Thankfully she feels ok in general, no pain, so hopefully it is nothing. But her father was not much older than her when he got Leukemia, so there is always this little niggly concern in the back of the head. Then you tell yourself, hey, it could happen to anyone, and this could just be an allergic reaction to the penicillan I have been on (Dr said that was a remote possibility).

But positive thinking is always good, and as I stopped taking my meds today, I might get a hug today! It has been a while since I have had a real one, and since I am a hugaholic, I need a fix. Thanks for the virtual ones dear friends.

My family does keep me going, no doubt. That is why I can cope with other stuff. But as many of you know, when the family is not doing well, it is harder.

My mom keeps ragging on me for not sorting everything out quickly (re school), but at the mo, I need to put one foot in front of the other.

Thanks for your positive thoughts and prayers, it is very much appreciated.

You have each other to love.

If all this gets in the way of your trip, remember that it's only a trip. Sarah and you are together after 10 years! *That* is the celebration, my dears.

You and she have recognized the issues surrounding you and are pursuing your lives around all of them. Both of you are to be commended and hugged (well, I have no intention of getting near you while you still have pink eye).

Life swirls around us - that's Exciting!!

I'm sending all the good vibes I can muster that it all works out for you and your family. Just remember to keep your eyes open because sometimes the solutions don't look like we expect them to ;)

The marks on Sarah have gotten darker, but she had her bloods drawn and we are waiting.

The good news is the medics have advised we go ahead and go away.

All being well, I will go in to work tomorrow, and then hopefully we will go on vacation as planned.

Thank you for all the positive thoughts, they really do mean the world.

Enjoy your vacation. I just spent two weeks at Disneyland. Rod was able to join me for 9 days. It left us rejuvinated.

Situations like you described with Mikey are why so many folk over here are homeschooling.

Take care. We love you all.

But I think Mikey in particular needs the social structures and discipline schools need. also, Sarah and I both question her ability to teach, as I would be limited to the weekends. But it is an option.

WE are with the Educational Psychologist later in April, I look forward to hearing what she has to say. We are likely to try to transfer schools, and are considering private, but at $1500 a month per kid, we would need to make some serious life changes.

I want to do right by the kids. Mikey is not dumb, but he is also not academic.

The good news is, health wise we have the thumbs up to travel. But the weather conditions in Scotland are snow all week. I am worried it will stop us getting through (though would be gorgeous if we do).

My daughter got really lucky in Washington. Her district has a school for homeschooled kids. They go for a few hours two days a week. So they get the social stuff and music and other group activities. She teaches the kidergarten math and helps with drama. She and the kids love it.

I think Sara may be selling herself short. I have often learned new things while teaching. It is a great way to learn. And not everyone is meant to be academic. Work to strengthen his artistic side. That is so often overlooked these days.

    Take care my dears.

My husband and I can certainly relate to the stresses of owning your own business, it’s not for the squeamish and takes great courage and energy to succeed. Those first years are the worst. If there are problems at work they tend to bleed over into family life and if there are problems at home too, which there always are when raising kids (something else not for the squeamish) it just makes it seem overwhelming. If only life would hand us one problem at a time it would be easy but it seems when it rains it pours and we just have to get through with as much dignity as possible. Try not to worry. Do as much as you can each day and then let it go. One person can only do so much in one day, that’s a general rule for everyone! Do your best, be proud of what you’ve accomplished and love your family. You can’t do more or any better than that. It's so much easier just to say one day at a time and one foot in front of the other! LOL ((davewasbaloo and family))

I'm sorry you're going through so much. You know where we are. You only have to ask. I'm mad at you for not asking for help already so don't push me further ;)

Mikey sounds just like Emerson - Elenya helps him with his maths homework(!), but he's so not dumb. He's just smart in other ways. I do see kids being failed by early years teachers at the moment. Connor is getting really good at reading now, but it took a long time and the school were no help at all.

I hope you and your family's medical issues get sorted out soon. It's really sucky sometimes, isn't it. Genesis is currently laid up after having a seizure in the shower this morning. You just have to keep going. She's looking into moving out and the council have been looking at getting her into sheltered accomodation.

Anyway, I hope things get better soon. I can't imagine what went so wrong that your client is getting sued.

    Stay strong buddy.

Great news, Sarah's blood work is back, it is not luekemia, and hopefully it should get better.

Sadly though, there are blizzards in Scotland, and my mom is pleading with us to not go. I am on a watching brief. Fingers crossed the snow will stop.

We had to cancel a much looked forward to day trip due to snow and rain in the Sierra's. Damn weather.
Maybe you all can just go out to eat and relax at home with popcorn and board games.

Stay on top of that one - don't let him get shuffled to the bottom of the pack of troubles. I lost someone fairly close recently, and it was a bigger tragedy than anything else I've faced recently. People can get so bogged down in what are actually short-term problems that they lose their perspective.

Best wishes for you and your family. Things do get better - patience and perserverence usually carries the day. Stay strong.
