I have a 13 year old Granddaughter that my husband and I are raising. She has some learning disabilities and is on an IEP (individual educational plan). I have to remind the administration many times a year about issues that they just seem to forget. I know that they have many children on these plans, but we are very active in her life and are constantly in touch with her teachers. Kids really need us to advocate for them. No one knows them or loves them like we do. Keep up the good work. It will definately be worth it.

We too have an IEP and I wrote a Common Assessment Form (the Ed Psych was impressed, then I sheepishly admitted to her I was a part of the national team that developed it 5 years ago). But we are making progress. There is a possibility we may want to look into Dyspraxia a little bit more. He is exibiting signs (and the good news, I think, is so did I at his age, so we may be assessed together - if I am, then I am not too worried, and maybe the school will take a little heat off).
