Cause those big, mean companies are costing the taxpayers too much, you see, so that's why we have to bail them out (even though we said last week we were against it), and that'll save everything (til the markets crash again the next day).

    Yeah, she's great.

Lehman Bros - any second now. Wonder how many millions their CEO will get out of it?

REAL conservatives no longer have a party.

By the way, has anyone thought about how many more billions this is costing us? That on top of the trillion dollar wars.

It's funny how many LP folks are crying for lower taxes, given these circumstances.

Guess they'd just as soon stick it to their kids and grandkids, eh?

    No worries.

Even the downtrodden who make 5 million per annum will be well taken care of.

    Where IS Sarah?

Why WON'T the handlers let her speak?

She is more experienced than Barack Obama we're told. She's gonna shake things up!

How do you shake things up in seclusion?

He can actually be a surprisingly tough interviewer with political guests. During the 2000 election, I remember Bush pretty much looking like a deer in the headlights as Letterman essentially grilled him with very direct, issue-oriented questions. It was pretty obvious that he was expecting a fluff interview and he really didn't have good answers prepared.

Obama is actually scheduled to appear on the show tonight. McCain has been a pretty frequent guest as well and I know that Biden has been on at least once recently (although before he got the VP nomination).
