One side or the other is going to eventually win this thing, but there's a great cost, too. Barring some unforseen surprise, neither Obama nor McCain will sweep in with a clear mandate.

If I wan't to mention that it's sometimes exhausting putting up with the heavy liberal voice on here, I will.

Seriously...any woman who votes this ticket better be prepared for the overturn. It's almost a certainty that one, or two justices will be replaced in the next 4 years (perhaps more). When that balance tips...bye bye Roe V Wade. Seriously.

All anyone needs to do is look back in history to see what happened after the country instituted Prohibition. That obviously didn't work either. People back then had very similar moralistic objections to alcohol and how it was ruining society. Liquor went underground, an entire criminal network grew that still exists today in various forms, and ultimately there was nothing positive that came out of it. Same thing here. Take away a right granted to citizens that has been around for generations, and all that will happen is it will go underground and have countless negative consequences, some as of yet likely unforeseen. A woman's right to choose has simply been around now too long to go back. Period. It's backwards, unproductive thinking to believe anything else, no matter what one believes on the subject. There's no way anyone could show that society would benefit, no matter kind of arguments about killing life would be proffered. Re-visiting Roe to put limits on the time for aborting, such as three months, or some such other thing is entirely different, but to ban it altogether is the height of social irresponsibility.

Sure, this year they've taken McCain's camp more to task, but that's because Obama's camp hasn't yet put out such demonstrably untrue ads. In 2004, both sides ran ads with questionable claims, and factcheck criticized Kerry's every bit as much as they did Bush's. <I can only guess that the ads work because they're true.> They're not true. One claims that Obama wanted to teach sex ed to 5-year olds "before teaching them to read." That's just flat out false, and factcheck is far from the only outfit to point this out.
