What really worries Biden's handlers – and the rest of the Democratic establishment - is that after the vice-presidential debate - as he painfully removes both feet from his mouth - Palin will be seen as the "smart one" and there goes their “just a heart-beat from the presidency” argument.

Biden is, indeed, an idiot – but an affable one and everybody loves a clown.

There seems to be this new argument that McCain is only trying to stop this debate to somehow cancel the VP debates. I dont believe it, but man, if that's true, it tells you what a mess this pick was lol. And the way they been shielding her like she's 12 sort of gives off that vibe.

And thats the DIFFERENCE as well. Biden isn't being treated like a adopted child, he's his own man and is respected. Palin is sadly being controlled like a pet who hasnt been house trained yet and its truly sad. I'm almost starting to feel sorry for her.

Yeah, Biden's dropping out. McCain's campaign seems to be imploding from within with the financial mess and are afraid to leave Palin alone in the same room with a CNN intern, but Biden's leaving lol.

He’s set free by the campaign to run across any stage that they aim him at in hopes that he’ll do no more damage than a 24-hour news cycle will replay. Biden is on the ticket because he was as close as Obama could get to Uncle Teddy's demographic and still be seen as "his own man".

It’s no small wonder that Biden garnered something like 1% of the primary vote before slinking from the stage. No – Biden is an idiot – he’s the Democrat’s idiot and the gift that keeps on giving to the Republicans.

Palin is still a mystery and likely to remain so until her debate with Biden, and as she’s tutored in foreign policy and ducking impatient reporter’s questions. I’d say that she’s a pretty good intellectual match for Biden.

As to McCain suspending his campaign – it’s a brilliant move and he’ll get some points for taking America more seriously than a job. As Obama will take some heat for wanting the job so badly that he’s willing to let Americans suffer a day longer than they need to.

    Heroics versus avarice.

It just keeps getting more and more interesting – and we haven’t even gotten to the “October surprise” yet.

He'll lose points for trying to pull off a cheap stunt.

Anyone considered the fundraising issues here? McCain is WAY behind Obama money-wise, always has been.

And here he suddenly "suspends" his campaign for a few days (no ads, no travel expenses, no nothin), and demands that his opponent do the same.

He becomes a bigger scumbag by the day.

And the only thing that is 'brilliant' about this move is to save McCain a few bucks off the campaign trail as X pointed out in another thread ;). Other than that, just more desperation.

You guys REALLY believe this stuff, huh?

Listen, I dont doubt for a second McCain wants to do the right thing and end this crisis, but if you honestly think there isnt any message he's trying to give off on this while trying to save his own neck (since most are blaming the Republicans for the melt down), then there's nothing more that can be said.

Try and keep up next time will ya?
