I know I have had my share of being criticized about anything I say regarding the Disney Dining Plan. When posting about staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a week and being upable to dine at either Boma or Jiko the entire week since they were both booked up with DDP guests who booked half a year in advance, one poster basically called me a liar and Roadtrip mabye you can help me with this.. .what was your quote? "spreading distorted information about the Disney Dining Plan". I'm sure nothing personal was implied in that comment.

Do you think NONE of that is personal? REALLY?<< Nope. >>You do it so often you never even notice it.<< I don't even think I have gone that far. I will clearly point out where I believe DVC has hurt the resort dynamic, how it has been used as a reason for Disney to skimp in other areas, how it affects existing resorts or transportation, how some members have a self-centered attitude. Never that it brings in a lower class people. I use to be a DVC Member. I don't for one second think the cost of entry into the program is akin to shopping at Walmart. I am pretty confident in what I have shared as my opinion in regards to DVC. Please don't lump me in with Spirit's Walmarting dissertations. >>And it doesn't feel very good to be on the other end for once, does it?<< Me? Are you kidding? I barely bat an eyelash. I laugh at what knuckleheads some folks are about getting worked into hysterics on a Disney message board. No, I get much more worked up when involved in a nice debate/discussion about how to run the parks, what is good, what is bad... No, the personal stuff is so odd that I immediately say a prayer of thanks that I am not at that level. Even when I was discussing things with jonvn! Talk about taking the claws out. >>Perhaps now that you have some inkling of how it feels, you will be somewhat less judgmental of those whose opinions differ from yours in the future.<< Hardly. >>But frankly, I'm not counting on it.<< Agreed. >>As with most of what we say, it will be dismissed as uninformed drivel by someone not intelligent enough to see the truth.<< No, it will be dismissed as uninformed drivel because some folks are too blinded by their own personal opinion to not realize that it isn't a universal truth when they state it as such. Too stubborn. Or, simply, that their opinion isn't grounded in reality. You have shared an opinion in the distant past that JII was not a good ride. Your opinion was noted, but your matter-of-fact application was drivel, because it was so far out of the mainstream that it couldn't be taken seriously. My opinion that FP is bad is valid, but my matter-of-fact application is backed up by the implications of its use. My opinion of FP is still fringe and not rooted in the reality of the universal appeal to guests of the FP system. The difference between you and I, is I know when my opinion isn't widely held or popularly agreed to. I willing to go into the machinations with you right now where I otherwise wouldn't, simply in my hope that you will finally understand that it isn't personal on my end. Why some others make it personal on there end (either side or POV) is beyond me. There are no sides with me. Either agree or disagree.

To make 100% CLEAR... ChiMike NEVER said anything about DVC bringing the Walmart crowd to Disney Deluxes. That was done by some other Spirit. I really am trying to not direct my posts against any specific person. I am talking about a group, and among that group is a wide variety of people... some really slam people who disagree with them, some not so much. But if you really feel you are a person who does not fall into the category I'm talking about, you probably aren't. Those who offend the worst probably know who they are also.

Within a generation someone without any knowledge of history or tradition will pull the plug on Walt's freezer to charge up their I-phone...and that will be that.<<< I don't see that at all, when Walt has been dead all this time, and the company is run by others who don't care about the legacy. The history will ALWAYS be Walt's. Nothing can change that.n

The only part of it that really irritates me is the smug certainty of the "elite" that their point of view is the only truly informed one and that if the rest of us DOMs were just wise enough to sit at their feet and learn we could one day also obtain true enlightenment.<<< And this smug appraisal of others is any better? Sorry, but that REALLY offended me.

Don't disappoint though, I am seriously anticipating a proper multi-angle retrospective to Pete's Garage.
