So MOM is not your cup of tea... big deal. Me? I happen to dislike standup comedy and find improv to be a bore. Reason why I didn't care for DCA's Al show. If many more enjoy it, I am honestly happy for you. Me? I think watching this show twice was more than enough.

I totally agree with this. However, I have not seen Aladdin so I cannot comment specifically on that show.
*curses the stupid apartment flood that prevented me from going to DL this spring*

I cant really see how having broadway style shows in a Disney park is a bad thing, but each to their own.

Right, to each his own. I see tons of Broadway shows each year, not just on Broadway but in various regional (and international) venues. I've yet to see anything in a Disney park that is on the same level as a good Broadway style show. When I'm at a Disney park, it's more valuable and enjoyable for me to spend my time on the things that Disney does better than anyone else (or the things that no one else does), than for me to spend my time on something that I can easily see better examples done elsewhere.

Not saying Broadway style shows at a Disney park is necessarily a bad thing; just that it's not necessarily a "me" thing.

Aladdin was pretty much the first Broadway style show done at Disney, and IMHO is a great show. Likewise at DLP, "The Legend of the Lion King" just blew me away, and from memeory, TDLFAN your a big fan of this show aswell?

I'd consider Encore at TDS to be a Broadway style show, and that was my main reference point for "Disney park Broadway style shows"

I have not seen the other 2 shows you mentioned, although I'd totally be open to seeing them if I had the chance.

(btw I do happen to love many of the Disney shows that don't aspire to be Broadway-esque)

Well if thats your piont of reference I'd completley agree with everything you've said previously, I was not a big fan of "The best of Broadway" AKA Encore.

My point of reference would be when Anne Hamburger entered the field, with Aladdin and the Snow white musical at Disneyland. Both of which take the average Disney stage show up many notches...although not all would agree regarding Snow White.

Legend of the Lion King at DLP is IMHO the best stage show I've seen at a Disney theme Park(Yes, even the Tokyo Parks).

MGM's Beauty and Beast in 1992 was actually what made Disney turn to Broadway... and I will have to say that even DL's version of "Beauty" was a step above MGM's in the early 90s.
I even enjoyed DL's Snow show much better than Aladdin.

Funny, most people fall asleep in "Encore" than any other show at TDS. Personally I like the Mermaid show better than Encore and MUCH MUCH more than MGM's puny version of it.
