Hence his desire to dump ABC. He actually is nuts enough to think that everyone will want to watch content on their iPad or even smaller screen. Guess he thinks ESPN is safe because folks will just watch sporting events on their iPhones (just not at ESPN Zones because they aren't meeting his projections ... someone might want to 'splain to him that might have more to do with having $13 burgers while most sports bars will give one for half that or less!) This is the same mentality that said TV would kill movies and videos would kill radio etc. He's all about platforms and tech and forgets both the importance of content and the fact far more folks don't live online (or don't want to) than the fanbois and tech geeks who would die if forced to spend a week with no iPhone, Facebook, Twitter or even just plain email!

I can make all sorts of ways in which its less wrong ... you park at WL, have dinner at Whispering Canyon (dropping a load of $$$), come back after going to MK and the DVC pool has two people in it. Who are you really hurting? In reality, no one. But it's a slippery slope. You aren't staying at the hotel, so why do you feel you should be able to use its facilities for free? When others are paying thousands of dollars to do so? It doesn't make you a terrible person. But I just think you're doing what we bitch about TDO doing: namely getting away with something just because you can. It doesn't make it right.

Disney is the only company out there that has cash-flow positive parks.>> True, but that has more to do with the times and the fact Disney's competitors are spending billions on investment, right now (I'm referring to the 2008-present period basically). If Disney didn't have to fill 25,000 rooms a night, and pay to operate/staff them, then those dollars might be available for other uses.

Jobs is definitely having influence ... but Iger has always been a tech geek himself. I think Potter proves immersive story melded with tech still wins in 2010. I find Mansion a helluva lot more repeatable than say TSMM, yet the latter is where Iger sees Disney's future in theme parks. He really should pull an Eisner and visit IOA and realize that many of those folks buying wands and chocolate frogs and Hogwarts tees are the same audience he believes will be impressed by coloring with Princess Aurora after waiting in the sun for 45 minutes.

The verdict is still out for me on his products though. Not enough hands on use. Although, I'm supposed to be getting an upgraded company cell in July (the new IPhone), so we'll see what that has in store.
