The whole mermaid thing still seems like a strange choice to me, considering how long after the movie was released it was installed (and after the movie was pretty much forgotten by everybody). Overall, I can't say that I hated the additions, but they just seemed like strange choices.

It was an unwelcome surprise after getting a rather large splash at the bottom of the drop (sitting in the front row). We were quite damp by the time we finally got to the AA portion of the ride!

If not, I don't see how it's an improvement over what's there now. As it is, at least when it's 'broken' they can still light it up and let you see something; when a hologram is broken, there's just nothing there. Given how spotty technology can be, I really don't know if this would really be an improvement.
