Almost all of us violate laws every single day of our life. There is nothing sacred about the law, especially when it is largely disregarded by those it attempts to control (speed laws for instance). If that was an attempt at a cutting remark, it failed. Like I just posted in another thread, this is an area where I see the effects on our system on a daily basis. The statement "Legality doesn't mean much of anything" is flat out misguided. It means EVERYTHING. Illegals here in California are a huge drain on our welfare and health system. The eleventh (11!) emergency room in Los Angeles County is going to have to close soon because the County can't afford to keep it open anymore. Our Department of Public Services (DPSS, aka the Welfare Dept.) is always the first to get budget cuts because they can't staff and fund all the welfare requests simultaneously. Just this morning in court I dealt with a divorced couple from Iran. They had lived here several years before leaving in 2001 to go back to Iran. Their relationship ended, and they both came back here because he knew he could get on general relief (and he's an architect) and she knew she could come back here to get welfare. Neither are US citizens. This type of thing happens here in Los Angeles County hundreds of times a day. So please, don't give me any beaumandy type crap or something about how we all violate laws. A large portion of our tax dollars are going to people who could give a rat's ass about our country, but know we're good for a soft touch. Screw them.

They have had to build more schools because of all the illegal people moving in the area. In the surrounding 5 mile area of Maywood/Bell/Cudahy they have build 4 elementary, 1 Elementary/Middle and 1 Middle/High schools in the past 5 years with more on the way.
