Huh, I hadn't thought about it being 3-D and interactive. That would be interesting. And potentially terrifying.

This was the same sentiment shared by EPCOT's first guests when Figment, not Mickey and Friends, was marketed as the park's only character ambassador. DLR's market research determined that DCA wanted more Diz characters, dark rides and kiddie rides because that's what the guests said they wanted. Hence, we're getting dark rides, rides for kiddies and more Diz characters than you can throw a stick at (which I don't suggest that you throw sticks at Diz characters as you'll be knocked out by Tigger). Tigger please.

I get it on Main Streeet without a character in sight. I get it looking at Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, BTMRR, The Grand Californian lobby, Grizzly Peak and Animation lobby. But I don't get it any anywhere else in DCA. Its a feeling. Like love.

I don't think very many people here, no matter what they say about the original park, wants the placed crammed with cartoons. It's just unpleasant after a while. I'm not going to want to go there at all. Maybe hit and run like now, because once you've seen 3 or 5 or 8 cartoon based rides, it's enough. I won't want to go on any others. It seems they are doing their best to design a park that people will just get tired of very very quickly.

Very nicely said. DCA is fun enough and has bright spots in it but I am happy to see that they are now working on it. Wish it were less toon oriented BUT I sort of like the look of the old Mickey and I never was fond of the Sun on the Sun wheel so I will be torn about Mickey being on the wheel. :)

They spending a lot of money to make PP "classier" then they add a GIANT cartoon head for a 2 min. section of a show. The rest of the day it will simply be a godzilla sized Disney Billboard.

For me though, the face in that form does bring a sense of nostalgia. I remember as a kid watching my early morning cartoons, waffles warmly toasted, buttered, and drizzled with syrup as my breakfast, and the wonderful faces of the Disney characters, randomly surprising you with who would be the star for the current feature! But when I think about it, Paradise Pier kind of does give nostalgia already, and will do that even more so with the Victorian themeing. Very interesting how this will play out.

Here? You mean on Laughing Place? While I'm sure they love us to pieces, I don't think we're their primary audience.

I like the sun thing, but could get used to the Mickey head IF it doesn't rotate, cause that would be just silly.

Here as in LP, but also on other sites.

A very common reaction has been not positive. For a lot of the same reasons. While we are not the general public, I am not sure many people will want to be stared down at all down by a cartoon mouse.
