Perhaps you meant the planners are going to attach a different type of light to the wheel? And if Paradise Pier is going to be Victorianized -- personally, I'd just as soon see the entire area eliminated -- I'd think a more simple (yet, admittedly duller) format of white bulbs outlining the edges of the ferris wheel (similar to what's done with the buildings on Disneyland's Main Street) would be more in keeping with an old-time theme.

The magic of Disney is that they are (or were in this case) usually subtle (i.e. hidden mickeys).

You can see two Victorian style structures that will be going in on each side of the wheel. I agree that the Sun Wheel's current queue would have to be one of the ugliest I have ever seen. So depressing to walk through it, especially since it's such a SLOW moving queue. THey should have put in an aquarium all around to make you feel that you are underwater. Or even to have blue neon lighting to outline the concrete water effect would have been far superior than what is there now! I'm glad they will be adressing this, if true.
