With about a month left before Mickey's Soundsational Parade debuts at Disneyland, a commercial film shoot was taking place
at the end of Main Street U.S.A.

SPOILER: the following link contains pictures of a couple of floats that were used in the film shoot

Kind of near that it looks like Mickey's head, but made out of a drum frame. All the drumming made it tough to hear the music well, but it looks like it will be a pretty good show. I'm especially interested to see how they work it all out with the live musicians, since that always adds a lot to a show (like the toy soldiers in A Christmas Fantasy and the jazz band for Tiana's Showboat Jubilee).

I really like that they included Charlotte on the PATF float. She's a great character, and she hasn't been in the parks yet, so it's always good to get another addition. I hope that they manage to work Dr Facillier in too, since he's a really fun villain.

I'm also pretty excited that they worked in the classroom birds from "Toot, Whistle, Plunk, and Boom". It fits the theme perfectly, but it was something that I hadn't even considered, since it's a fairly obscure short (featurette?) these days.

I guess they didn't have too many options on the dress (they probably weren't ever going to consider the waitress outfit, were they?), but she manages to fill up the boat completely on her own. I'm not sure how seaworthy that vessel would be with a dress like that in it!

As far as princes go, only Aladdin and Naveen are accounted for. And Naveen in frog form as an installation on that oar.

I'm really excited for this parade. I may have to brave the summer crowds and heat to see it.
