Me took it easy on another newby who asked whether to go halloween or christmas. Sorry James. Maybe this is indeed for another thread. But frankly I feel like Disney websites are a waste of time. It makes no difference ruffles a lot of feathers, and maybe I would be better off without. Thing is, my passion and want to know what is going on, coupled with my friendships suck me back every time.

As you said this is kind of Ok on a thread started by a regular, but to a new LPer this could be the first and last time they participate. I've certainly seen that in the past!!!

All I was trying to point out is that since we don't live in Florida, we enjoy going to a Christmas themed arena no matter what it cost us. We can always choose not to participate. Malin, Please write a trip report after you've visited MVMCP. I'd love to hear your take on it!

Life and experience happened to me. But I am NOT bitter about WDW. I love the place (can anyone gimme a count as to how many times I've had to utter that phrase to defend myself?). I do NOT love the way WDW has been run over the past decade-plus. I do NOT love WDW's 'leadership' team. I do NOT love WDW charging more and giving less and then hearing fans defend those type of moves. I do NOT love WDW holding Christmas hostage, which is exactly what it now does. And I don't consider myself 'bitter' about those things, just passionate. Passion is a good thing. It lets you know you're alive. <<I don't really follow the WDW threads as often as most, but the few threads I've seen you start or participate in are so negative. I might be wrong, though, so forgive me if I am.>> I'll forgive you. But, frankly, I believe if you're going to 'attack' the messenger instead of the message, you should at least be informed of who it is you're attacking (and that is too harsh a term, but I can't think of one right now ... too much slushie) and what their viewpoint, perspective, agenda etc ... is. <<Just don't go, but don't ruin the vibe for those of us who travel a long way to participate.>> Hey, I've gone twice in 10 years and didn't pay either time. But please don't accuse me of ruining anyone's vibe. If I can truly ruin someone's time with a post here, I would suggest the person reading really has some serious problems and should consult a mental health professional. I am a stranger here, except to a chosen few who are friends, and my opinion should be treated just as such. If I am really that powerful, please send me a check! <<Who cares how much it costs. We aren't pod people, and can make our own decisions whether or not to buy a ticket. People will stop going when it gets way out of hand. >> I care how much it costs. I care that Disney is now charging more for admission but offering less. I care that Disney now demands an extra $50 a person if I am to get to enjoy Christmas at the MK (just try that in Anaheim, Paris or Tokyo). I care that it is blatant gouging of the consumer, while trying to make those people feel special ...that they're attending a 'private party' (as someone who has been to many private parties at the MK and other Disney parks, trust me when I say they are nothing like MVMCP!) I don't know when people will stop going. My guess is never. Because sites like this have far more folks than myself who are willing to GUSH about how great an event they are, I can only see them becoming more prevalent. Maybe in 2009 the first one will be Nov. 1st (right after the last Halloween Party the night before). I don't like the event or what it represents and as long as there are threads about it, I'm going to state my case for staying away.
