The Vanity Fair photo is definitely artististic by comparison. But that photo isn't a clean, sensual photo. The touseled hair, the faded red lips, naked under her sheet. It implies that she is waking up after a night of sex. Thank goodness there's no smell-o-vision.

    I have to agree.. it's not so much the staged vanity fair photo(although the whole situation is a bit unusual) as it is the photos she has taken of herself... while the vanity fair one is more skin, the others are more worrisome to me because she is a role model to the children I teach, and I don't want them to think it is okay to take pictures of yourself showing your underwear and emailing it to boys you think are cute.

    One thing I noticed in both the magazine (I subscribe to it BTW) and the apology afterwards. She gave the impression in both she felt pressure from Annie L.

    That is what I found to be sad. The photographer is well know, and respected. A child will expect to look up to her, and to some extent, do what the authority says. Personally, after reading the article (and before I read the apology) I was wondering why Annie had even brought up this pose to the girl.
