It's December and we have just arrived at Orlando Airport or on WDW property by car. All plants and lawns look bright and green, and the air just feels lighter than it does back home in NJ.

This is one of my favorite things to do, not just favorite while on vacation but favorite in my simple life! I like to watch IllumiNations in front of the Canada pavilion, and then walk in the opposite direction around the WS. By about Japan the crowds have thinned out, and you can really enjoy a special vibe of having the WS to yourself!

Y'know, while those statues are cool and well done, I have to admit that I was really disappointed when I first saw them. For whatever reason, as their curtains slowly came up at the end of the show, I was expecting them to come alive in all of their AA splendor and do something! I remember the curtains starting to go down again and thinking "that's it?" Of course I still enjoy the entire show, and am no longer disappointed when the whaling captain isn't actually turning the wheel.

What's really memorable is watching how all the people stop in their tracks to see it.

Then there's the tiki torches all around the Polynesian. That's been a favorite of mine since I was 7.
