Also to be fair to you, duplicating attractions, as we all know, is very cheap to do compared to starting fresh. ///yes it is a death trap/// Now you're just disseminating unfounded/false claims. /// I think it would work well in TL./// Yes, it would fit in nicely even though I do not personally like the attraction all that much---- I hope it never comes out to California.

It was a smash hit in DCA when it opened. It would have much longer lines if it were in DL, but since DCA is never that crowded (that's a good thing, for me at least!), the lines are fairly reasonable. I bet that if you compare the hourly throughput of both versions of the attraction, they will be exactly the same. They're both operating at full capacity; DCA's just has a shorter line because of its location. If it was in DL instead, I'm sure it would have a rediculous line. Mix in the number of repeat visitors that WDW gets, and their Soarin' will have a much longer shelflife than ours does, even though they're (almost) identical. And I doubt something like that would happen with the DL version becoming a smash hit while the WDW one flounders. It seems that new rides in DL are really popular for a year or two, and then the lines drop to almost nothing, unless the attraction really is something spectacular. Since M:S isn't all that spectacular (it's good, but not great), I don't think I could see them spending the money to build it in DL (it's one of the most expensive ride systems ever made) just to get something that's popular for a year or two. That's what parades and fireworks shows are supposed to do.

Two to one.. then factor in how much more likely someone is to need/want a FP at Epcot then DCA. Means utilization of FP at Epcot is much higher - which means the standby line is going to move slower. Even if they gave out the same number of FP's, it's much more likely that Epcot's would be claimed versus DCA. Slower standby line. So, Soarin at Epcot on a norm al day being 2-2.5 hours versus DCA's 30 mins or so makes sense. So, really, it's equally popular. It just has everything to do with which park it's in.

I think the fact a couple deaths happened within it's first few years of operation put the kibosh on rebuilding such as extreme thrill ride anywhere else on the "Disney Resort" map.
