It never ceases to amaze me how so-called Christians always default to the Old Testament to defend bigotry when they can't find any scripture in the New Testament to support it.

If you're Christian, the Old Testament is a history lesson. Nothing else. Your 'laws' have been given to you by Jesus. So if Jesus hasn't condemned something specifically, you guys need to stop attributing your condemnation to him. Doing so just makes you look dishonest and hateful.

and where in the new part of the Bible does it say "don't bed down 5 year olds"? See what I mean? Just because something isn't listed doesn't mean it isn't a good thing to be doing. Some things are so obviously wrong that we don't need someone to tell us not to do them.

and for 182 you should understand that Mormons like Catholics and Muslims have a long history of messing up gay's lives.
The best thing to do with them is leave them be and whatever happens to them so be it, at least they made their own decisions in life.

Beau, this is a false equivalency argument. Having sex with a 5-year-old is not the same as two consenting adults. Forcing sex on someone of any age, against their will, is not the same as consensual sex between mature adults.

If you're going to make analogies, at least try to make applicable ones.

never said it was, so where are you coming from?

What I said and it should be easily gotten is that you brought up the New Testament as %%%%proof%%%% that gay is OK but as you can see that just will not work. It won't work because the Bible is not what we should be following. we should follow what is right and wrong.

also why are you being sarcastic calling me your beaugh? I am a married man and am not looking for another woman if your are a chick.

I think they also point to some of Paul's epistles (maybe the one to the Romans?) that mentions homosexuality in a list of "abominations." I realize these verses are parsed in different ways by theologians, some saying it's "anti-homosexuality" and some saying it's not that clear.

But it's not as if the New Testament is completely silent on the subject.

Jesus, of course, while talking about sin all the time, was silent on this topic.
