That would be another horror over at the Magic Kingdom, I couldn't stand being close to the Cinderella castle back in the 25th how fruity was that.

ORDDU: (ahem!) As for that awful old crane you were talking about, I have a feeling you've seen the last of it for a while. My sisters and I really believe those Management types at Disney are finished painting the castle, for now, and will leave it as it is until the next routine painting job is required. Maybe at THAT time you'll see a new color scheme. ORWEN: We say this because we were talking with one of the Supervisors of the current paint job--even before they started adding the pale pink tinting--and he told us they would be doing exactly what you're seeing, now. ORDDU: We don't happen to think it's as bad a job as TDLFAN does. At least the rooves are a nice, dark blue and they stand out against the sky; certainlyh more than the castle rooves do in California for the park there. ORWEN: The rest of the castle comes across more like a cream color instead of a true white. I think it'll just take some getting used to. After a while it most likely won't seem to bad to those who don't like it now. At least we HOPE it won't.

I do agree though that the top does not match the bottom and I am still waiting to see once the holiday crowds die down if the clock tower section will be painted to match. That is the only thing that stands out to me and that is only because it makes the top portion look that much better in comparison. I have this wierd feeling though given the way certain other parts were left gray that they wanted to make it seem there was a separation between the "fortress wall" and the castle proper rather than the one single structure as I have always seen it as. I haven't seen TDL's castle in person, but based on pics (and before I am criticized for basing an opinion on pics, I don't have the opportunity to visit Tokyo anytime soon so pics is all I have to chime in on the discussion with) I prefer the MK paint job which essentially kept the original look and made it brighter and cleaner and emphasized some of the finer architectural details with varying shades of light pink and white rather than painting the towers varying shades of beige and painting the gargoyles and other items gold while making the bottom half exceptionally dark. I think the TDL paint job, while nicely done, bridges, but does not cross, the edge of being a bit gaudy.
