Cosmic Ray's ... what can I say? I try and spend as little time as possible there ... hell, my meal at its TDL 'sister', which is still called the Tomorrowland Terrace, was the worst meal I had in 11 days in Tokyo! I am a bit surprised about the seating deal. I do know that they were doing that starting last year during Spring Break since they don't have enough QSR capacity (why you will probably see a 'new' version of the AC in the MK soon). I find it hard to believe that it's that busy in early June (not peak season at all anymore) to warrant that. I've said my piece on the Mansion queue and new ending. They aren't the worst thing and there are elements (of both) that I like, but overall it was spending money to 'fix' something (maybe they think it's plussing) that didn't require it at all in a park with huge pressing needs. I absolutely understand your feelings about thinking 'why am I here?' ... there was a time when I never felt that way about a Disney Park, but being in the MK in hot, sticky, busy times just is flat out not enjoyable to me (in fact, it can be hellish). If I were at WDW now, I'd likely be on my arse by a pool or inside at a bar. I may be a bit OCD, but I don't get anything out of standing in line behind smelly, stinky tourists to ride something I've done hundreds of times before. But if you're going to Hawaii soon, you got nothing to complain about! Go visit Aulani since it's about to open and then try and buy something at the Ala Moana Disney Store ;-)

I think I've grown out of the a-day-at-Disney-is-better-than-a-day-anywhere-else mentality. What amazes me -- and my point in remarking on the crowds -- is that WDW is still doing booming business (or at least so it appears in my eyes) despite not opening any new attractions this summer. (An updated ST2 isn't a new attraction -- it's simple updated.) The crowds say to me that WDW's business model isn't going to change anytime soon, no matter what incredible things UNI is doing up the road. Unlike many of you, when I go to WDW, I go for a day. I don't stay at the resorts now that I have family in ORL, and I haven't paid for a ticket since 2003. My feeling from this trip is that for me the attractions aren't really worth the hassle of visiting. It can be fun to spend time with friends and family, but WDW is just the backdrop. It's no longer the main attraction for me.

I did that in 2008... Rare that I get that low, but it happens.

What I found is when you visit during the crowded times, you spend over half of your in-park time waiting in lines. For semi-annual visitor like us, this is unacceptable. We're already grossly overpaying to even be in the park; there's no reason why we should spend all of that time and money in the park when you only have a dozen or so attractions to show for it. Of course, I'm not knocking people who visit during the crowded months, as I'm aware that most people don't have the flexibility to visit in the offseason, and of course, there are downsides to visiting in the off season as well.
