So in a nutshell the issue is over 4 to 5 extra operating hours a week

No, they are falling apart. Constant mechanical problems have plagued the trains for quite a while now. Not hyperbole at all.

I think that the use of the word "park closing" is confused to imply regular park closing, but the hassles would not be worth it in my opinion.

I guess that if the resort monorail was working then everyone including the people that drove from the resorts could use that, but what about EMH in Epcot. That alone would create a firestorm of upset.

Would that keep running as well and if so, so little would be gained by stopping the express monorail that it is hard for me to imagine the worth.

As I stated I could very well be wrong but something is not adding up to me. I know many think management is incompetent but I don't see them as stupid when it comes to covering their own backsides. Something like this would leave the high paid posteriors out in the open.

For the rails going out of service at end of day- Rails have usually ceased before the last guests out as they will stick them on a bus to wherever they need to go so both watercraft and 'rails can end day- (I wish they'd just tell them to get out or you'll be stranded and do it- as I despise people who prevent operations from closing)

It's the ending while paying resort guests are STILL in the park legally is the issue... It'd be like ending rail service 2 hrs before park close (though admittedly for a LOT less people- though a rather valuable $$ paying group)

Think of the special event parties where the park closes at 7! Those after hour parties are open to the general public. How can they even think about shutting down with the system for those?

This tells me it is either temporary to get the fleet worked on or that this is poorly thought out.

I'm thinking temporary. At least for the halloween and christmas parties

Last time I checked my name isn't CHIMike...

And no, they aren't well maintained and running properly.

2 years ago. I dare you to wait for a boat to GF in an ECV. It's impossible. Unless you have a wheelchair (that folds) and can step from the dock to the boat, you're in trouble.

And to be clear, Resort Launches are the blue-topped single motor boats that carry 30 guests.

Motor Cruiser are the mid-sized boats that go to FW and WL and carry 120 guests. Those are handicap accessible and can hold 2 ECVs.

But to drive an ECV or a non-folding wheel chair...IMPOSSIBLE.

Oh, they most certainly are. The once grey and white plastic "upholstery" is dirty, the blue seats are stained, the AC doesn't work, they smell, and they need help moving along up the "hills" these days.

Much more fun and a grander experience on the boats....

...something I thought I'd never say. Love the monorails, and it's a shame to see them like this. Quintessential Disney, and in ruins.

My other question do they mean one hour after posted park closing or one hour after Main Street closes, which is later than the rest of the park?
