It is wonderful, even with my modifications. I have had them at other places, it just isn't the same. Although, there is a place across the street from WDW called Jungle Jim's (in the Crossroads shopping center) that does a pretty decent job of it. They even have one on the kid's menu that is made with PB&J instead of meat and cheese.

Still if I can't have it served with a mint julep and have some BB doubloons afterwards, it can NEVER be the same.

I don't mind it at other places, especially since at a local family restaurant I can order them as often as I want, I don't have to wait for my DL trips, for the first 23 years of my life Dl was a yearly treat, for the last 4 i've only been doing WDW.

My sister kept telling me that she could get a Monte Cristo at Perko's. When I finally saw what they served I just laughed. Not even close. And the mint julep and chocolate doubloons are a must for me too.

I have never asked for mine squeezed but my daughter and I squeeze our own to get rid of some of the grease.

My guess would be they use it to grease all the rides. Maybe they could refine it and we wouldn't rely so much on foriegn oil...wait a minute why am I saying all this...I love the Monte Cristo.
