Offering quality service, new shows and attractions (I am patient with these, I am not actually calling out for that many new attractions, just well maintained existing ones would be good with proof their is a development pipeline), unique dining and shopping opportunities, then we come back with our wallets opened.

There is a place for Mickey, Hannah Montana, HSM, Princesses, Fairies, PotC and NMBC, but why not diversify. I think they have been using too much LEAN SIX SIGMA thinking lately to cut costs, and with it, they have lost a lot of their soul.

They want newbies or DoM or folks that don't realize or care that things were done better in the past.

If Disney gave a damn about upholding its great legacy, then it would hire folks like us (and trust me, they know exactly who we are and where to find us) as quality control execs instead of revamping their PR Dept, so that you now actively have people whose jobs it is to reach out and leverage relationships with online bloggers ... in other words, do whatever they can so that voices like ours are silenced in favor of people talking about how magical it is when their little princess met Tink in Pixie Hollow!

BTW my Disney stock is down to $21 today and the dollar was just trading at $1.49 against the pound ... there goes all those saviors from Dave's neck of the woods looking to drop thousands on magical WDW vacations.

I also did NOT purchase any Disney merchandise during my last trip. And I looked all over trying to find unique tee shirts or just about anything. I was just not impressed. Just about ever trip I make my way over to POR to look and see what unique tee shirts they have available for purchase at that resort. Zilch, just boring generic stuff. I visited most of the resorts and felt the same way, nothing original. I wasn't even impressed with this past years MNSSHP tee shirt. I did do some shopping ( off property ) and picked up a few Adidas shirts as well as some new Under Armor shirts from the Malls. I found that there was incredible bargains in the stores at the Malls. At least this way I have some new clothing to wear to the gym.

In June I got a Maleficent t-shirt, and a Chernabog one at the Villain Store. But I had to look around.

Come on vbdad, lighten up. In one sentence you managed to insult every rock in the world. :)

Isn't it strange that not one person has posted how great, and veried the quality merchandise is at WDW. I wonder why?

Moreso, it was generic character stuff that could be sold in any Disney Park across the world.

cause it is... I can think of very few things that are 100% original to one park or another. If they say WDW there is a 95% chance there is the exact same item that says DLR.. The merch they released for Everest- most of it now is released at DLR with Matterhorn on it...

They are even sharing Limited Edition pin releases between WDW/DLR..

Having them behind the register was okay (and understandable) but having it be the *only* open register in a fairly busy shop was not and not having some form of line control (esp as there were CMs wandering about) was not.. I started in line being about 3 people back and somehow ended up about 10 back by the time I got through...

Add that the CMs were more involved at pin trading then selling made for a bad experience... I could've been in and out of both resorts in the time it took at DTD... the pins arn't all that pretty anyway (I hate being a completist in my Wilderness Lodge/Fort collection)

If only it was my store- there would have been ORDER! Its not that hard!

My favorite is the one of the totem pole in front of the mercantile at WL. I don't collect pins, but we had to get that one. Funny how a little thing like that defines such a grand resort for me.
