Except The Weatherman is all into tech.

He sees the days when fanbois watch Disney films on their iPads. When people walk thru parks with their eyes focused on their Disney Parks apps as they barrel their double-wide strollers into your ankles. When a WDW trip is totally planned out on an RFID Key to the World card.

    Tech is cold. Period.

Without the proper story and context, it's as warm as your MacBook or Blackberry.

Iger really doesn't seem to get that.

It's why he doesn't seem to get why Marvel superheros clash so much with the Disney 'brand'.

Now ... look at kewl tech in a ride system melded with beloved characters in a three dimensional setting and you have what IOA is about to debut.

You say this to a person that did just buy an iPad, and did download a few Disney movies to it, but again, you know I agree.

Hopefully, however, the RFID and Techie stuff is furthered beyond what we think it will do. We see IOA about to debut something that is the best of both worlds, you can't say Disney is incapable of that. They are. They just have to be pushed to do that.

Hopefully, IoA just turned up the heat...

    And seriously, gnight! :p

I think Everest, when everything was working, came closest.

But it still failed. Too many little things from not enough special effects, to only one Yeti encounter to holes in mountain etc ... all conspired to make it a D-Ticket attraction and E-Ticket Disney coaster. But since nothing is working ... well, it drops further in my book.

Didn't even attempt to ride it last week, but did it 4-5 times on prior visit.

<<it appears, UNI has with Potter.>>

<<Uni had it with Spider-man as well, IMO.>>

    Absolutely.

And Mummy and MiB (more the latter) certainly aspired to be great.

Where is the 21st century game-changer from Disney?

There hasn't been one and there isn't any on the horizon.

But we can all look forward to coloring with Aurora in 2-3 years!

I think you wasted money (not that you asked) that would have been better spent on traveling ... even on a WDW AP.

What is an iPad? a giant iPhone? I don't get it.

That was said when IOA opened. Didn't happen.

I am not sure WWoHP will either, no matter how great.

The great unwashed masses seem addicted to pixie dust. Pot would be a better choice. And cost a whole lot less!

Does WDW just attract people who should live in zoos?

Considering they are one month from opening.. it's a touch troubling that they didn't operate the system. At the same time they have been rabidly controling how information gets out - so perhaps it was a choice and not because the system is delayed.

Was scholarship money...Use it or loose it.

Besides, it's going to be my "new" laptop...It functors perfectly as mobile computer.

    Not that you asked. :-D

It's another superfluous piece of expensive techie porn from Apple.

Opinion! It's not superfluous, if you can find a use for it, and that I have done.

Have you used/seen one yet? If you are judging it before you see it...don't. I thought the same thing as you, and after testing it out, it just works. And works well.

Radioshack is offering the iPhone for 99 bucks ATM, and you can also offset the price by turning in any old electronic that simply turns on.

I cleaned house, and turned in enough stuff to get an iPhone for 35 bucks.

The plan for it is still obscenely expensive.

And it'll be worth it when they add tethering..Which is rumored to be with iPhone 4.0.
