Sorry about the song title, I was cruising.

Sorry about the spelling of Carrousel. There are a lot of merry-go-rounds around the park, and they are spelled differently.

Sorry for mentioning the Carolwood Society. I was just trying to think of folks who would do everything they could to restore, protect, and preserve this important piece of Walt Disney's legacy.

I'm assuming very little of the show -- Animatronics and sets -- is from the original World's Fair or the DL installment. Is that right? Or is the show primarily made up of the props and AAs that date to the 1960s?

So, I'm checking myself, and I now see I was totally off. It is "Carrousel."

But since this is the friendly Laughin' Place, I must be allowed one excuse?

The 1968 map of Disneyland that I have framed in my hallway lists the "Carrousel of Progress," and "King Arthur Carousel" in Fantasyland. For ages, that bugged me.

I just got it wrong. Again, sorry.

Well good luck with that. Considering it's a very small amount that read any type of message board and know what's happening. Now subtract those who don't really care you're left with a very small amount who would boycott. And for a company like Disney it's not going to matter.

I don't think it's as much an issue of space- they could always secure another building... look at how much space dedicated to Air and Space museum-- the issue is would they want to ? I think the answer there is likely no. Lot's of upkeep.

I can tell you that those of us with corporate 'influence' have this in the back of our minds though. It may never make one purchase difference, but then again it could cause someone to look harder at a company they might not have before. Maybe because Siemen's USA is HQ'd in another suburb here I am more familiar with the extensions of their business that deal with IT solutions / office communications and financials.

I would never choose a company over another because they sponsored an EPCOT exhibit, but would I make sure I looked at what they had to offer..yep.

GM would have been fine also had they built a competitive product for 25 years or so. Their small cars have been one crap pile after the next..while they get their butts handed to them by Toyota and Honda...and now others. If the Cruze doesn't cut it- they should give up.

They build a fine sports a car for the money and the Camaro is at least competitive in it's niche market- but after that ? And Ford builds better trucks.

I also think the lack of sponsors willing to drop tens of millions of dollars is one of the reasons we have seen a lack of new attractions over the years.

Since 2003 the attraction has been open nearly every day of the year. It has had some touch ups here and there, but we agree it needs a full-fledged refurb.

TDO isn't willing to spend a lot of money, and the carousel theater is imbedded into the ground. It's mechanical system goes about as deep as a utilidor underneath the pavilion to support the structure where the AA storage room is.

The ride is a people eater and thanks to advances in social networking and the internet, has gotten more attention since it reopened fulltime in 2003. More people are riding it and are becoming fans of it.

Two major problems: The current show is BORING, theres barely any background music, the script is beyond cheesy, and the outdated ending leaves people wondering if this show was the way its been since 1964 or just outdated. Problem two is it's in a boring building with very little promotion.

If these can be addressed, I think it could work.

I've always said the best way to "save" the ride is to take act's 1-4 and turn them back as closely as possible to the 64 version, then turn the stage of the unload theater into a bonus show that can always change and never effect theoriginal show....then take the load theater and use it for load and unload. Take out the curtain and do a 4-5 minute preshow film explaining the ride.

Have it sponsored by the tomorrowland metro retro historical society and say how it's currently on display in tomorrowland and that guests can see walt disney's original version plus a special glimpse into the future.

There is no room available for show scenes in load and in unload. That is why you see what you see. Perhaps a digital wall screen?
