I live in Japan now because my wife doesn't care for America. ;p

However, we're considering moving to Hawaii now (she dislikes America, but not enough to pass up living in Hawaii lol).

LOL! So you don't have the devil's number then? Dang it - I've been trying to get a hold of him. I have a meeting with his brother Dick Cheney next week to discuss our plans for strarving more children. I remember the area code is 666 but for the rest I am drawing a blank. But I need to cancel as I am too occupied with foisting homosexuality on the Mormons.

LOL! Yeah, Hawaii would ne nice! But pretty far from DL and TDL/TDS. I guess you would have to get used to real beauty rather than contrived beauty.

By the way, the Mormons have quite the presence in Hawaii. You'll fit right in. ;-)

At this point, I think we've had enough of Disney to last a lifetime. :p

(besides, with family in Tokyo AND Orlando, I think we'll still see the parks now and again...part of the appeal of Hawaii is how it is sort of "in the middle", not really but close enough)

This is the way of Mormonism, folks. It's made up of good, decent people. But they have twisted themselves into knot after knot to justify the most bizarre of logic. There was a time when Mormons extended their highest ordinances to murderers but not African-Americans - and somehow it made sense to them. You can't be surprised then, that they manage to justify gay discrimination.

Wow, that is pretty damning stuff. I don't know how the Mormons can justify it. And what baffles me even more is how any African American can be Mormon. And yet there are some.

But I suppose there are some gay Mormons too, which I don't get at all either.

Well, given there are a few references to homosexual behavior in the Bible, and that it's been observed in dozens of animal species as well, I think it's safe to say it has always existed.

I do think, however, that the strictures against homosexuality (and masturbation, and birth control) in religious texts stem very much from the fact that at the time the texts were written, it was all any given population could do just to sustain its numbers and break even over generations. People tended to die in their 30's, women died in childbirth all the time, diseases were far more rampant, and it was all any given group or tribe (including the Jews - always a small and beleaguered group) could do just to keep their numbers steady. So any form of sex - birth control, homosexuality, masturbation - that did not lead to procreation was suspect, and frowned upon.

Very interesting observation. I think you may be onto something there.
