I have been on both and they are not the same. I know the cars for each are the same but the track is no where near the same. DL got the better ride. It would be like comparing POTC at DL and WDW and saying "well they use the same ride system and the same layout". Yeah right, excecpt WDW got half a ride. Dinosaur doesn't have the multilevels or any where near the effects that Indy has.

Sorry, but I prefer Indy. Althought I did score a nice set of sunglasses the last time I rode Dinosaur. They made up for the pair KJ lost on TestTrack.

I agree with changing it, but not back. Forward into something even newer.

And we would need SOME of the old songs back for that...

But at the same time, to completely wipe out that legacy from this, or any attraction with such a direct and timeless connection to the masters of the past, all in the name of doing something new and kewl, is a lame copout.

It's hard to believe that there is actually a whole generation of people who only know the Tiki Room as this crapfest!

It's not MAGICal (well, maybe the first part).

But it's akin to the all-time faves of mine like 'why can't Disney move Horizons to Tomorrowland?' ... or 'Disney should move Small World to EPCOT' ... along with the new classic (hey, if Disney can call a film that's just been released a 'classic' then I can do the same with fanboi threads) 'Disney making UNI move Spidey to WDW!'

I'm sorry (no, I'm not, so why even use the pretense) if it offends, but why talk about it?

It would be akin to talking about how FLA's new governor is going to get our affairs in order when he himself is a criminal.

I'm VERY thankful that I got to WDW in the early 90's quite a few times and that I have a very good memory. I got to see a LOT of what was so great in WDW before it got whipped out.

Why would it make us look less than intelligent? It's just talk about all the possibilities that WDI has in the versatility of these concepts. Armchair Imagineering, if you will.

Because the conversation moved past the absurd notion of actually moving the Tiki Room by the 8th post, into a general discussion of the attraction.

Because it's about things that will never happen. And it's not even something in the 'blue, blue, blue sky' possibility type area. It just isn't happening.

    Like the mythical fifth gate.

(although the Hulk meet and greet is definitely coming to EPCOT's German pavilion because Fred, my busdriver from Pop Century to DD last Tuesday, said so)

Sorry, if I am more cynical than usual, despite a good start to 2011 ... but despite my Spiritual nature I am more one to focus on things that are possible. Even remotely.

The Tiki Room will likely saunter on for the rest of the decade in the state it is in now (outdated cheesy 90s) and then get another 'quick fix'.

Can we talk about the Shadowlands fifth gate now? Pretty please! ;-)

Of course not. But the possibilities are fun to discuss.

    You know something about this?

    Something that's not Stitch? ;-)

People didn't like a "positive" poster trying to quash conversations she saw as negative. Is trying to quash conversation you see as pointless much different?

I welcome all discussions and HATE censorship (like say on social media, TWDC and the Disney Dream debut!)

I was just making my opinion known. As far as I'm concerned this thread can go on (and hopefully will) until it dies a natural death. I may take part in it myself if it turns into something I feel is worth talking about!

For what it's worth, I far preferred Tropical Serenade and consider myself fortunate to still have access to (a shortened version, true) the original. As for a dinner show version, well I think I'd rather see The Tahitian Terrace, maybe in Camp Mini Mickey if in DAK and not AL at MK.
