Scratches head profusely at this statement.

Don't concern yourself with it. TDLFAN is a somewhat cranky guy with no children (kinda like me!) who would rather bemoan the problems with the MK than enjoy the benefits. We've gone many rounds, and at the end of the day I really do like the guy. But I completely disagree with him many times, and this is one of them.

This coming from the guy who begs me to "get together for dinner or something" in Urayasu...

I rest my case. So I guess I had a clue after all, which is something I can't say for people in MN.

We are able to stay at Marriott in an appartment with a Jacuzzi for $300 a week. So next time we come to Florida, we will visit DAK, Epcot, Sea World and maybe Universal. I primary driver will be to see our Floridian friends. How sad considering how much we are die hard Disney fans. It has now come to this.

WDW offers very little value to us now.

    Most have not.

**WDW offers very little value to us now.**

Yet you still plan to visit DAK and Epcot...

That'd be half of the parks...how is that "little value"?

I'm starting to get annoyed that my little "I'm happy to be returning" thread has turned to crap.

So...whatever. I won't write into laughingplace about our plans whatsoever.

It's obviously not worth it, since I get nothing but negativity...DAMN, I heard more positive stuff when I was planning to visit DCA, AND HKDL (both TRULY crappy places!).

Done with this. I won't write anything more about DisneyWorld, either before my trip or after.

Or if I do see problems, I don't let it rise to the point of interfering with my great time. I'm very much looking forward to enjoying highlights of the MK like the Hall of Presidents, the Carousel of Progress, the AstroJets up on top of the Tomorrowland pylon where they belong, and of course the PeopleMover - all treats that you can't get in DL!

Please don't let the naysayers bum you out - keep that excitement going, and keep on posting about it!

Also my point about WDW, it used to be the only reason we would go to Florida, and many of the friends we have made were because of our shared love of Disney. But WDW bears little resemblance to what it once was. It makes me angry. I feel like I have been cheated. I suppose I was trying to help manage expectations so you do not experience the same sense of disapointment I did.

May be I need a break from Disney web sites, and Disney in general? Sorry Mr X if I have brought you down. That was never my intent. I am sure you guys will have a great time. Sadly, we only kind of did last time, and had a MUCH better time at DLP. I am certain you guys will have a blast at SeaWorld.

So please don't let me drag you down. I will back away from this thread, and indeed Disney websites. Shame as I have made some ace friends in cyberspace.

If anyone wants to talk to me, my e-mail is david (Dot) Loyd-Hearn (AT) virgin (dotttt) net

    Sorry bro.

I'll see you all when I get back to being a decent human being or when Disney returns to form. I hope neither is too far away (feels this close to a nervous breakdown right now).

    Perhaps we will cross paths!

I am excited too...which was the point of the thread.

I'm not really interested in the negativity here, and I can honestly say that I have NEVER (at least not on purpose) infected peoples' "hey I'm going to the Disney park, give me hints!" threads with negativity.

    I think it sucks.

Of course, I'm more than honest on the "what do you think about these parks" threads...but frankly that's a different story.

I'm very, VERY sorry I started this thread at all at this point.

Good points, Dan, about neat stuff to see at the Magic Kingdom (like I said, limited time, so we might actually skip it...since we live so close to TDL)...

But no, I'm done posting about it. My excitement level has DROPPED about 50% since I started this thread...

And since I'd like to CONTINUE being excited about visiting Walt Disney World...I will stop writing about it on LaughingPlace altogether.

    Sad...but necessary.

Help me plan for bitterness? *huh?*

(laughingplace needs some smilies, along with an edit feature!)

Well, anyway, whatever. I know I talk enough crap about the parks, so I'm not one to sit here and say "how dare you say that!? I'm going to enjoy it!"...

But as I said, I do try to contain my critiques to the threads that are really critiquing the parks (I feel fairly confident that I know the pros and cons of Disney more than most...perhaps EVEN more that
TDLFAN (runs off to punish himself, Dobby style)...

But I have to say I'm a little pissed.

Whenever people have written "I'm going to this or that park" on LP, I believe I've written back with positive stuff as well as enthusiasm.

The possible exception would be when I wrote to people going to Hong Kong planning two days or more, where I wrote back in a negative sort of way "one day is probably enough"...but even then I've tried hard to be CLEAR that it's not that they'll hate it, or that it "sucks" per se, but just the fact that there is only enough stuff to do to cover one day.

Other than that, I think I've written positively back to "trip planners".

It totally sucks that I didn't get the same consideration.

In all fairness, I'm probably tasting my own medicine here since I've written some SCATHING reviews about Hong Kong and the Studios in Paris...BUT, I think in all fairness I've only written those in "what do you think of" threads...but I can't vouch for that.

If I *HAVE* written stuff like this in peoples' vacation threads (I cerntainly might have), than this thread is a lesson learned. I've tasted my own medicine, and it is BITTER! And, no fun.

In any case, LP will hear no more about my vacation plans to WDW.

As a matter of fact, based on the horribly negative comments from LPers on WDW, my wife doesn't want to go anymore.

We'll still be in Florida, but she says she'd rather skip WDW altogether after reading such bad reviews.

We're still scheduled to visit with family, go to the beach on both coasts, and go to seaworld...

But it sounds like WDW is out of the question for FGM (which is fine with me...I don't mind following her vacation wishes and this thread REALLY upset her and she doesn't want to set foot in WDW now! wow).
