Like Davewasbaloo said before.. there are two major reasons why you should not skip WDW: DAK and EPCOT Center, both of which offer unique WDW-exclusive experiences... but to come this far and skip the MK and MGM (ooop's, DHS) would be sacrilegious. But I am not going to shy away from saying that coming to WDW will help you appreciate what you have in your own backyard a bit more...and if you want to take that in a negative way, then that is your prerrogative, but I think it's silly to do so. Even though I am talking about the things that may interest guests like you or danyoung the least...like cleanliness, politeness, CM efficiency etc etc etc. You and FGM will still *HAVE* a blast at WDW doing things that are not found at TDR and getting to catch up with what you have missed since your last visit. Hey! Even the new and improved HM promises to surpass expectations, and I for one would love to know your opinions about Wishes and MGM's (ooops!) Fantasmic, for example. Heck, I would even love to hear your thoughts on the much improved Sea World experience... but I am not sure if you will make it there...

TOUR THE RESORTS ... and see all the beautiful uniquely themed decorations is a joy. I always make time to visit the Gran Foridian to see the full size REAL gingerbread house and buy a cookie. Get up close to the MASSIVE Christmas tree to have a picture while pointing out the enormously silly ornaments (full size mirrors and round balls as big as basketballs. Just out front is an ole fassion chestnust roasting on an open file - FOR REAL. We grab a few CHESTNUTS a sroll the lobby. The Animal Kingdom Lodge has an African gingerbread village - the Boardwalk has a gingerbread carosel - and so on ... all the resorts are just beautiful. I like PORT ORLEANS French Quarters decorations a lot. Check out the balconies and guest room windows. You will see that people brought their own lights and mini-chrismas tress to decorate their rooms windows and balconies. It's so neat to see. One of my fav stays was in 99 at the Wilderness Lodge. We woke up Christmas day and found a stocking hung on our door filled with candy!! The room was in the center main lobby and I looked below to see families had gathered around the Christmas tree to open their presents. The lobby turned into one big play area as the kids - like on any Chistmas morning - opened their toys and played. It was really moving. THE PARKS - are also all done up with Christmas flare. Beautiful decorations all around with tree lighting ceramonies to boot. The EPCOT Winter arches always was a big hit for me (are the still there?). Spend time going "around the world" to see all the countries decorated with their traditions. Spend time with all the different countries santas and hear the unique stories of santa. Very Cool. The parks have tree lighting ceremonies and parades. The MK christmas parade is well done but I hear the one presented during the MICKEYS MERRY CHRISTMAS PARTY is outstanding - well, at least for *us*. I hope you can take some time to enjoy the stroll the Osborne Lights - VERY well done. The snow falls, the music plays and you can grab some hot coca and cookies. It is a great time to go ... What else should you miss? All the stuff you said. Mission Space / EVEREST / the car stunt show / NEMO at Epcot / NEMO show at Animal Kingdom (see it TWICE) / Philharmagic / Check out the new effects on PIRATES / the new facade in Small World / RIDE the People mover / see CRUSH at EPCOT / LAUGH FLOOR (we liked it) / FANTASMIC / SPECTROMAGIC (still an AWESOME parade) / WISHES is very well done / ILLUMINATIONS from the sloped area at the end of the pathway from Future World that meets World Showcase / ALL of ANIMAL KINGDOM especially the Jammin parade (also *very* well done) / and so much more ... it is WDW !!!

BUT...our plans have already been altered at this point (we work fast)...now it is THREE days in Orlando with family (a day trip to SeaWorld), coupled with a 5 day trip to Montreal (FGM has always wanted to see that city!).

Even the most jaded with the WDW can't *help* but get excited at all the new decorations and offerings.<< But WAIT! Did you say "new" decorations for Xmas at WDW this year? Do you know something we don't? Or am I too expect new Xmas decor along with the new decor they already announced for their Halloween period?

Originally Posted By Mr X **How come you are not there for me Mr X when I need to be negative** Bullshit. I've been there for you TONS AND TONS AND TONS of times providing backup for your negativity. BUT, that was on threads about "how could the parks be better?"...not "hey, I'm excited about my vacation". Fair comment? If not, that's fine (since my naughy word is sure to be admined soon enough anyway lol). TDLFAN, can we expect to meet you and g-fan somewhere in Orlando IN ANY CASE? Perhaps SeaWorld? We surely hope so!

I don't have an AP to Sea World but, in all fairness... I thought you said you wanted to have fun and not hang out with me before in this topic...did you not?

We are doing BOTH (AND Boston/Connecticut (wouldn't miss it!)/New York/Washington DC...so it's a full on "North American Tour"... minus DisneyWorld though (FGM over-ruled it thanks to TDLFAN's comments...PLUS she's sick of Disney anyway and none of my Florda family wants to go either)...the Florida fam is WAY happy about the SeaWorld idea though...TDLFAN, can you meet us there?
