Not the kind of god I'd want to worship. My friend has a rule: God is not a jerk. But plenty of Christians and Muslims sure make him out to be a jerk with all the nonsense they ascribe to him: racism, sexism, bigotry, homophobia, ignorance, violence, and hatred. Rather than make God out to be a loving deity concerned with humankind, they'd rather swallow whole the tripe contained in their millennia-old sacred texts. I just don't get it.

Right now were in the middle of the Lenten season, which means no meat on Friday's. Last Friday I'm out at dinner and I decide that I don't want to have fish or spaghetti or whatever non-meat dish. I wanted to have a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. I thought long and hard about it and thought God probably has more important things on his mind than whether or not I have a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. For the record it was a darn good sandwich.

Amazed first of all at how much FOCUS there was on "fake pork"...I mean, the appetizers were all like "turkey-bacon wrapped water chestnuts" and "turkey-ham rolls" etc, etc... Secondly, I was amazed at how TASTY and very "real" that stuff was...it was a first class wedding in any case (spared no expense...typical Jews lol) (YES, Jon, I'm just KIDDING!!). So anyway, I can't really comprehend the "don't eat this" cultures (though if I had a religion of "no beer" and "no mayonaise" I'd be a lot better off!), but coming from a Catholic background I never even paid attention to "no meat on Fridays"...so what do I know? lol.

That turkey ice cream, for example - just doesn't cut it in my book.
