Luckily, since the boats are guided by the groove in the center of the canal, the boats never actually touch the sides of the flume. I assume this was done to make the ride smoother for guests, and to eliminate scuff marks on the sides where they would be seen, but it has the added benefit of not really being able to squish fingers. Of course, if you have fat hands (at times, the corners of the boats get really close to the flume wall) there's still a chance, or if you put your hand on the end of the boat where they all bumb into each other while they're waiting to unload, you can still get pinched, but it eliminates a lot of the "idiot potential". Too bad people can't just keep their hands to themselves though.

I ducked slightly just to avoid the tidalwave, and somehow managed to get my head under the log and when I tried to lift it back up, I smacked it on the long. Still managed to get soaked to the point where I had to go home because my underwear was soaking. But my head was sore for a while.
