Did you love RSR?

I'd just read a couple of articles about the growing number of businesses that cater to adults only and the backlash it's inspired in some. My wife and I talk about it and find it all very interesting, and your trip report reminded me of it, that's all. I'm anxious to try Carthay Circle and Flo's.

Thanks in advance. :') It boggles my brain that C/M's have become parking valets for strollers. Strollers wouldn't be that big an impact if everyone was required to use the DL standard strollers. These mega stretch triple wide strollers do not belong.

There’s simply no good reason why that should happen. “Big Thunder. My understanding from insiders is that it is getting the Matterhorn treatment this next winter. What would be nice would be to see them make it longer and actually have a finale that takes the railroad all the way out to the Rivers of America.” OK, that’s good to hear. It’s so clearly in need of a refurb that I figured one must be on the agenda soon.

I’m curious to see in person what all the fuss was about regarding the character additions. The only other things that I would have liked to have seen but missed were The Columbia and Tom Sawyer Island…. er… Pirate Island or whatever they call it now. “Did you love RSR?” I did! I was lucky enough to ride it twice (once on Magic Mornings and another using single rider) and experience each of the two different special rooms. My car won both races! As others have said, RSR is a solid addition to DLR that will be popular for years to come. The backstory about Stanley’s Oasis that forms the queue is very clever and filled with beautiful details. RSR is one of those perfect Disney E ticket family rides with enough thrills and effects to keep the grownups awake, but not overwhelm or frighten young kids. My advice to anyone visiting from out of town is to stay on property and take advantage of Magic Mornings. We did all of the Cars Land attractions in the one hour before the park opened. On our way out to BV Street for coffee, we passed by the Fastpass line for RSR and there was a 30 minute wait stretching all the way through Carthay Circle to the entrance of Hollywood Land!

No booze report, but I will say that Trader Sams is the bomb and the lounge at Carthay Circle is going to be fantasic once the mixologists there get the hang of things. The place has a very ambitious beverage menu. On another note, who knew that there was an upstairs outdoor lounge at the Winery? I just discovered it on this trip.

But we were also hyper-sensitive about making sure that if they did start to get fussy, out one of us would go with that child to the car. If we could calm the kid down, we might go back in. If not, the other parent got a to-go box for our food. We always looked at that as common courtesy.

We've all seen them, the clueless parents who ignore their kids and seem to have that attitude that since they're little, everyone needs to just deal with it. Most parents aren't like that, and like CC said, give us a minute, huh? Glaring at me when I'm trying to round up a screaming kid and take them out to be courteous to you doesn't help.

I'm not opposed to infants in the park. As long as they aren't crying and disruptive during things. If you have older kids, taking infants sometimes is just a necessity, but the baby won't get anything out of the place, and it's really difficult trying to deal with babies in the parks.

I remember those days when the DL Hote was transitioning frem the Wrather Co. to the Disneyland Co. and there were groing pins. We lost some of the best of the hotel but they made up for everything with Trader Sam's.

They did not count on the demand for specialty merchandise - which they once had. The stores were blown out in the first week or two. So I give them a pass on this, but I blame management for not being ready to restock as soon as they could have.
