I am stunned it happened where it did. I know it was in the middle of the night, but its next to a main road.

Every week it is in the local news paper about similar attacks. pity theyve nothing better to do really isnt it?

The poilce have rung, theyre calling some time today for a statement. They didnt catch anyone last night.

I just passed him a cup and because one eye is closed, he had no idea where the cup was and missed it!

He has rung work to say he wont be in Sunday ( His next day to work)
Not really safe driving me thinks!

A classic case where cigarette smoking can really be hazardous to your health. It's a good thing he doesn't smoke and that there are still good people in the world, like the couple that let him in their home and then took him to the hospital. I sorry to hear that he was hurt but I'm just glad it wasn't worse. Tell him the next time he thinks about walking a public street by himself at 2:00am to consider Anaheim.

A similar thing happened to my husband when we were dating. He and a friend were walking in a very safe (we thought) part of the city when a pick up truck filled with teenage punks pulled up and attacked my husband. His friend managed to get away but Chris ended up with a broken nose which required surgery.

They never caught his bad guys, hope they get yours!

Can you please find the couple who finally opened their home and thank them from us, too?

I bet they were terrified to open their door so late to a stranger.

Add my well wishes for him, and hopes that they catch the dirty rotten creeps who did this.

I'm a firm believer in karma. They'll get theirs somehow.

I do not know if I would let someone into my home who was being pursued by muggers. It is a hard call to be the good Samaritan.
When my husband was sucker punched in Hawaii (in someone's yard) he asked the woman to call the police and she told us the best thing to do was just go home and forget it. (Go figger.)
And our friend's wife and daughter were attacked in broad daylight in Petaluma (moving there after living safely in San Francisco for many years). Don't mean to ramble but it seems no place or time of day is truly safe anymore.
    (Disneyland excluded of course.)

Seriously though, we wish you all the best and are so thankful it wasn't worse.

Im sooooo glad the couple let him in (he got the ambulance to hospital) I hate to think what would have happened otherwise. But if the same happened to me, I really dont know if I would dare to let someone in. Thats awful to think. He said his hands were full of blood from where it was dripping from his face, so maybe they thought that he needed help fast.

Ive added another photo of what he looks like now.
