Sodium Casienate is a food stabilizer derived from the lining of cow stomach I believe. So while for the benefit of those that are Lactose intollerant it is non dairy, it is not vegan. Many people assume that Vegan is just not eating eggs and cheese anymore. It is way more than that. Some Vegans won't eat honey, because some major processing operations actually injure the bees to process it. Many vegans wont eat refined white sugar or many kinds of foriegn beer, because part of the refining process uses ground up cow bones. Being a vegan means alot of research and understanding not only of what is in your food but also of what goes into making your food. (i will step off my soap box now.
