If you have a cold, for example, and your temperature is slightly elevated, make sure you've taken aspirin about an hour before the plane lands so your temp is normal as you pass through the quarantine area (proir to immigration). To answer your question: if you want to see Monster's Inc. you have only two chances: start of the day or end of the day. (And remember that East Center Street is CLOSED at entry--they make you head straight to the hub and go all the way around the first portion of it clockwise. If you do start of the day, do NOT get on the FastPass line. Hang right along the front of the Toy Shop and go to the standby line. (Many people accidently end up waiting in the FastPass line when they don't want to.) After exiting standby go directly to Pooh and, if the line is less than 30 minutes, ride it. Otherwise get a FastPass. At the end of the day, the waits on the standby line at Monster's Inc. will be half the listed time. I discovered this last week and also why: since Fastpasses are all distributed by 10:30 am, many if not most of those folks have left the park by 9 p.m. and never come back to use their FastPass. Since the standby wait time is always calculated by the number of standby people in line AND the number of FastPasses given out, with only a few stragglers coming back with their FastPasses, the standby line moves at double the listed speed.

I will likely do Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain while in the area, is Monsters not worth getting a Fast Pass for at rope drop?
Originally Posted By The Goddess Mara NO! The FastPass line for Monsters is huge within moments and creates great congestion. Most people don't know how to get around it, so they stop, or think they are on the standby line. Or want to be on the FastPass line. You will get on much more quickly by heading straight for the standby line WITHOUT wasting valuable time. Then head straight for Pooh (which, in retrospect, you'll wish you had gone to first). If you are able to ride Pooh immediately (without getting a FastPass), then get your first FastPass for Splash. There WILL be a line for the Mansion, but it is generally shorter than the line for Splash.
