There are scriptures about caring for God's creation, but nothing quite the way this odd statement is phrased. (Maybe she had Leviticus 25:2-5* in mind?) I do note that Mr. Limbaugh has attempted to make Pelosi's sin bigger by making it appear she was "quoting." In actuality, she was clearly paraphrasing. But she was paraphrasing something that isn't actually there in the first place. How like a politician. (*2. Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD. 3. Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof; 4 But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard. 5. That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.)

Here's a lengthier quote from an earlier occasion. From last October, in an interview with Tavis Smiley on PBS: >>Tavis: You said earlier, Madame Speaker, that you on this particular issue have prayed for the president; you prayed for understanding on this issue. I want to go back to that - I heard that - go back to that word pray, because there's so much conversation now, as you well know, certainly in the presidential campaign, about the role of faith, about the faith of the persons running, about the talk about their faith, any way you want to slice it and dice it. A lot of conversation, values, voters, about faith of late. Tell me about the role that your faith plays in your being speaker, because I assumed you were serious when you said I pray about these things. Pelosi: Well, I do, and I'm raised in a family in Baltimore, Maryland, my father was the mayor. He was in Congress when I was born. And we were devoutly Catholic, very patriotic. We love America. Devoutly Catholic, deeply patriotic, proud of our Italian American heritage, and in our case, staunchly Democratic. And that faith was related to our Democratic values. That is to say the gospel of Matthew. "When I was hungry, you gave me to eat." You know, the least of our brethren. So that's an inspiration in the New Testament. In the Old Testament, Isaiah says, "To minister to the needs of God's creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the god who made us."<< http://tavis2.kcet.org/archive...osi.html Nope. Not even close. Maybe she's just been saying it so long she believes it. Or she just really, really wants to believe it is true. Lots of politicians really, really believe the stuff they say, which for them is almost as good as if it were actually true. It's like that memo CBS had about Bush's National Guard service, or all those reports about the WMDs in Iraq. They just seemed so right. P.S. I did a quick check on Isaiah, but others have beat me to it. It ain't there. Here's a pretty good post about the "issue," with a set of responses taht are both funny and thoughtful: http://www.getreligion.org/?p=3443

The Democrats voted for the Iraq war. Go look it up since you are spouting nonsense every post. Pelosi voted yes to every single war appropriations bill to the tune of 2.4 trillion. She's worse than bush. Bush doesnt make up bible quotes.
